Mountain Hawks win second straight event

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the 2007 Patriot League Championships set for this upcoming weekend, Lehigh tuned up with its second straight first place finish at the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Mountain Hawks shot a 383, which was 12 strokes ahead of second place Lafayette (395). Muhlenberg (401) and Moravian (410) rounded out the team scoring. Freshman Steve Suarez captured medalist honors as he shot a 71.
Other Mountain Hawks that competed on Wednesday were Eric Feather who shot a 76 to finish in a tie for fourth, Will Robinson who finished seventh with a one-round score of 77, Shane Gilroy and Jon Abramson, who both shot an 80 to finish in a tie for tenth, and Chad Lubart who tied for 19th place with a score of 85. Lafayette’s Dave Rahal finished second overall with a score of 72, while Brian Bergstol of Moravian came in third, after shooting a 73.
Lehigh returns to action on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the 2007 Patriot League Championships. Tee time is set for 8:00 AM.
