Patriot League announces men's golf preseason poll

Posted: 03/08/2012
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its 2012 preseason golf poll Thursday, with Lehigh picked to finish fifth at the league championship, which will take place April 28-29 at the Bucknell Golf Course in Lewisburg, Pa. The Mountain Hawks will be looking to improve on a tie for fifth at last year’s championships at Navy.

Lehigh returns a two-time second team All-Patriot League selection in senior captain Doug Marcincin, who tied for eighth at last year’s championship after shooting 219 over three rounds.

The Mountain Hawks are spending their spring break in Florida working on their golf games. Lehigh will play four tournaments in April, beginning with the Quaker Invitational, April 2 in Pine Hill, N.J. leading up to the league championship tournament at the end of the month.

Lehigh displayed solid team balance during its fall season, with four different players leading the Mountain Hawks in four fall tournaments. In addition to Marcincin, senior Tim Rosenhouse, junior Sean Keller, sophomores Andrew Arnold and Alex DiClemente and freshmen Zach Allinson and Carlos Kim will all five for time in what should be a competitive Mountain Hawk lineup.

Lehigh will return to action at the Quaker Invitational on April 2. The Mountain Hawks will also take part in the Lafayette Invitational (April 15-16), the Navy Invitational (April 21-22) and the Lehigh Valley Collegiate (April 24) before the league championship at Bucknell.
