Mountain Hawks open up action at Barnabas Health Intercollegiate

BEDMINSTER, N.J. – The Lehigh men’s golf team opened up action at the Barnabas Health Intercollegiate by shooting an opening round 307 Saturday at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club. Freshman Carlos Kim fired a 75 in his first collegiate round to lead Lehigh, which sits in a tie for seventh place in the 17 team field heading into Sunday’s final round.
Kim’s round of three over par has him in a nine-way tie for tenth place overall. Others who competed for Lehigh included sophomore Andrew Arnold, who shot 76 and is tied for 20th place; sophomore Alex DiClemente who sits in a tie for 27th after shooting 77; senior Tim Rosenhouse, who shot 79 and tied for 56th place and freshman Zach Allinson, who is in a tie for 78th after shooting 83.
 
Seton Hall’s Brandon Park shot a three under par 69 to take the opening round lead, three shots better than JMU’s Chris Wellde, Longwood’s Ross Sumner and LIU’s Obediah Ayton.
 
In the team standings, Seton Hall and James Madison are tied for the top spot at nine over par 297. Temple sits in third place, one shot off the pace. Lehigh is tied for seventh with St. Bonaventure and rival Lafayette.
 
The Barnabas Health Intercollegiate, hosted by Seton Hall, concludes Sunday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
