BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s golf team is set to travel to South Kent, Conn. to take part in the Hartford Hawk Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Bull’s Bridge Golf Course.

The team is coming off a strong performance at the Bucknell Invitational. The Mountain Hawks won the eight-team tournament one week after finishing second in the nine-team Colgate Invitational.

Lehigh’s win in the Bucknell Invitational was the result of a balanced team performance that resulted in four players finishing in the top ten. Junior Andrew Arnold finished third overall at 220 after opening the tournament with Lehigh’s low round of 70 and following that with second round 76 and a third round 74.

Freshman Harley Abrams also impressed in just his second college tournament. He finished tied for seventh after shooting 222 (73-75-74).

Senior Sean Keller (73-77-73) and sophomore Carlos Kim (74-75-74) both shot 223 to tie for ninth. Lehigh’s fifth team member, junior Alex DiClemente, shot a 235 (81-79-75) to finish in a tie for 27th.

The Mountain Hawks win in the Bucknell Invitational was the first team win since April 2009, when Lehigh won the 21-team Lafayette Invitational and the four-team Lehigh Valley Collegiate.

Last year, Lehigh finished 15th in a 17-team field, with DiClemente leading the way, as he tiedfor 46th place.

Action at the 54-hole event begins Monday morning and continues through Tuesday.
