BETHLEHEM, Pa. – With the season opener later this week, Lehigh Athletics has announced its 2007-08 men’s basketball broadcast schedule. Once again, games can be heard live in the Lehigh Valley on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320, with live coverage, interviews, and more. Lehigh has also teamed up with the Lehigh Valley’s largest cable television provider – Service Electric – to televise a number of home games on its award-winning 2 Sports outlet. Plans call for seven home games to be shown in the Lehigh Valley on Service Electric.
In addition to the radio play-by-play coverage, fans outside the Lehigh Valley can listen to Mountain Hawks basketball exclusively on-line as part of the Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast package. An industry leader in on-line broadcasts, Lehigh Athletics will make available over 200 events on its web site in 2007-08. This season, six Lehigh contests will also feature live streaming video on-line at no additional charge.
The broadcast team of renowned veteran Matt Kerr and Roger S. Penske/Lehigh Athletics Hall of Famer Greg Falkenbach ‘72 will call most of the action on the radio, with 2 Sports’ Mike Zambelli and Rich Baksa teaming on the televised broadcasts.
Parents, fans, and alumni around the world can tune in to the live action of a variety of Lehigh sporting events via Lehighsports.com. By subscribing to the Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast package, fans will have access to nearly 200 Lehigh sporting events. The package also includes access to the Lehigh Sports Magazine TV show, as well as other exclusive Lehigh basketball content.
All broadcasts on-line are aired live, and are available on-demand for enjoyment at any time. A nominal monthly subscription fee of $4.95 is required to access the package.
Five other Lehigh basketball games will be televised this season: Nov. 23 at Maryland (Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic) Dec. 31 at Penn State (Big Ten Network); Feb. 2 at Holy Cross (ESPNU); Feb. 10 at American (ESPNU); Feb. 29 vs. Holy Cross (ESPNU) at Stabler Arena. These games are available nationally on satellite, and on select cable systems (check local listings).
The 2007-08 Lehigh basketball broadcast schedule gets underway on Saturday night, when the team opens its season at Cornell. Air time on ESPN Radio and Lehighsports.com is set for 6:30 pm EST.
