McCollum continues to gain national attention heading into senior year
C.J. McCollum continues to garner national attention heading into a highly-anticipated senior season. Numerous websites have noted McCollum as one of the best guards in the nation; the Canton, Ohio native owns 2,074 career points, good for second in school history and third in Patriot League history.

Lehigh looks back at magical season at annual awards banquet
Following the most successful season in program history, the Lehigh men’s basketball team held its annual “Zell” Awards Banquet on Saturday (Apr. 14) in the University Center. The dinner included a welcome from Associate Athletic Director Bill Griffin, remarks from the seniors, a team awards ceremony, special banquet video and more.

Bone Marrow Drive on Wednesday serves extra significant for Hyncik
The Lehigh football team is spearheading an on-campus bone marrow testing drive on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus in Lamberton Hall. The drive will have extra significance for someone else from the Lehigh Athletics’ family as Marilyn Hyncik, mother of former men’s basketball captain Adam, is in need of a bone marrow transplant and has been unable to find a match.

McCollum withdraws from NBA draft, will return for senior year
Lehigh guard C.J. McCollum officially withdrew from the NBA Draft on Monday and will return to Lehigh for his senior season. McCollum declared for the draft on March 27, but did not hire an agent which allowed him to gather information and feedback from NBA executives before making a final decision prior to the first day of the spring National Letter of Intent period. The Canton, Ohio native has already been a key part of two Patriot League Championship teams...

Lehigh men’s basketball honored at IronPigs’ home opener
Lehigh men’s basketball was recognized by the Lehigh Valley IronPigs’ minor league baseball team (AAA Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies) on Thursday following its second Patriot League Championship in three years and its historic win over Duke. The Mountain Hawks were honored approximately 30 minutes prior to first pitch between the IronPigs’ and Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees. The team was recognized on the field before heading to the concourse to sign autographs for eager fans.

Where are they now? Vin McCaffrey '98
It’s hard being a student-athlete, especially at a school with an academic reputation like Lehigh’s. Vin McCaffrey ’98 knows this first-hand. A four-year member of the men’s basketball team, he quickly learned how to deal with adversity in managing his time as a student and athlete. With the pressure of balancing the two aspects, McCaffrey’s time management skills developed on the fly. McCaffrey was more prepared for life after graduation than he expected.

McCollum named AP honorable mention All-American
Lehigh junior guard C.J. McCollum was named an Associated Press honorable mention All-American on Monday. It marks McCollum’s second-career AP All-America honor after also earning the distinction as a freshman. He is one of only two Mountain Hawks all-time to earn the honor, along with Austen Rowland in 2004.

McCollum garners ECAC Player of the Year
Lehigh junior guard C.J. McCollum continues to rack in the honors, most recently earning ECAC Player of the Year honors, as announced on Thursday. It marks McCollum’s second ECAC major award of his career after earning Rookie of the Year laurels as a freshman. McCollum was joined on the ECAC First Team by Scott Machado (Iona), Kevin Jones (West Virginia), Andrew Nicholson (St. Bonaventure) and Kris Joseph (Syracuse) while Duke’s Austin Rivers was named Rookie of the Year.

McCollum named Lute Olson All-American
Lehigh junior guard C.J. McCollum was one of only 25 players in the nation named a 2012 Lute Olson All-American, as announced on Tuesday. McCollum joins elite company as 14 of the 25 were from a BCS conference, including Harrison Barnes of North Carolina, Anthony Davis of Kentucky and more. McCollum was the only Patriot League player honored after averaging 21.9 points and 6.5 rebounds while leading the team with 124 assists on the season.

Lehigh's historic season ends as Xavier rallies for 70-58 win
Bidding to become the first No. 15 seed to reach the sweet sixteen, Lehigh led Xavier by as many as 15 in the first half and by four at halftime, but the Musketeers used a 20-2 run and capitalized on cold Lehigh shooting to rally past the Mountain Hawks 70-58 Sunday at Greensboro Coliseum. Sophomore Mackey McKnight scored a season-high 20 points to lead the Mountain Hawks, but Lehigh made just 5-of-34 field goals in the second half as its school record-setting season comes to an end at 27-8.

Mountain Hawks stun second-seeded Duke, 75-70
The Lehigh men’s basketball team used a sensational all-around effort from the opening whistle, led by 30 points from junior C.J. McCollum, to pull off a huge 75-70 win over second-seeded Duke Friday night for the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. The Mountain Hawks never trailed by more than five, and were leading for much of the game as Lehigh always had the answer to Duke's runs.

Lehigh takes part in Media Day, Open Practice at NCAA Tournament
On the eve of its NCAA Second Round showdown against Duke, the Lehigh men’s basketball team took part in Media Day Thursday afternoon while also holding an open practice in front of fans at the Greensboro Coliseum. Juniors C.J. McCollum and Gabe Knutson along with senior Jordan Hamilton addressed the media prior to head coach Brett Reed’s interview session. The team then hit the floor in front of hundreds of faithful fans.

McCollum named NABC First Team All-District for third straight year
Lehigh junior C.J. McCollum has been named a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First Team All-District honoree, as announced on Wednesday. The honor marks his third in as many years. The nation’s fifth leading scorer, McCollum enters Friday’s NCAA Second Round game with a 21.9 average along with 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

After a school-record 26 wins capped off by its second Patriot League Title in three years, the 15th-seeded Lehigh men’s basketball team will face #2 Duke in an NCAA Second Round Game Friday in Greensboro, N.C. Men’s basketball to be honored Sunday at men’s lax game vs. Yale
On Sunday, the Lehigh men’s basketball team will be honored at the men’s lacrosse game vs. Yale after winning its second Patriot League Championship in the last three seasons. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex and admission is FREE for all. The Mountain Hawks will be recognized between the first and second quarters, before heading to practice leading into Sunday night’s Selection Show.

Lehigh holds off late Bucknell charge to capture Patriot League title
For the second time in three years the Lehigh men’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Tournament as the Mountain Hawks withstood a late Bucknell charge to down the Bison 82-77 Wednesday night at Sojka Pavilion. Junior C.J. McCollum led the Mountain Hawks with 29 points, while classmate Gabe Knutson added a season-high 23 as Lehigh won its third Patriot League tournament crown and punched its fifth ticket to the NCAA tournament.
