GENERAL
The Club Sports Program at Lehigh University promotes participation in a wide variety of activities, complementing the University’s Intramural Sports Program, Fitness and Recreation Programs. Club Sports are designed to help students develop leadership, financial, and organizational management skills. Open to all full time interested students, the Club Sport program offers over 30 plus student run organizations at various stages of development. These clubs range from the very competitive which travel and play intercollegiate schedules to intra-club tournaments. Each club relies on student involvement with recruitment, organization, administration and implementation of specific club policies and procedures within the Club Sport Student Handbook. All clubs enhance and promote the element of sportsmanship, physical well being derived from physical activity and socialization aspect of their sport. The initiative, organizational commitment and personal investment required for club sports participation fosters an extraordinary learning and leadership experience.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Participants are fully responsible for any and all medical expenses that may be incurred as a result of participation in club sport activities. Lehigh University assumes no medical or financial responsibility for voluntary participation in club sport activities. Anyone participating in a club sport organized practice, event, clinic, competition etc. must sign an Assumption or Risk/Release of Liability/Participation Release Form prior to participation. Failure to ensure that all participants have fulfilled this requirement will subject the club to disciplinary measures.
MEMBERSHIP
Individual Club Sports establish their own membership requirements, dues and programs. The success and strength of the club is based upon the initiative set forth by the elected student leaders and the total involvement of club members. A club offers students opportunities to become directly involved with the administration and supervision of their organization.
