Player Profile: Will compete for time at linebacker and on special teams…
As a sophomore (2012): Saw time in seven games, primarily on special teams… finished with six tackles… blocked a punt on final play of first half versus Bucknell (10/20).
As a freshman (2011): Appeared in three games on special teams… credited with one tackle… spring season as a defenseman on Patriot League Champion men’s lacrosse team.
In high school: Was also a wrestling standout as a two-time MVP and fourth-place finisher in the Tennessee State Wrestling Tournament … Earned lacrosse Most Improved Player recognition … Helped lead his squad to the 2009 MSLA (Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Association) Championship; team finished as runner-up in 2010 … Honorable mention All-MSLA honoree … Played for Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio before moving to Memphis, Tennessee his senior year where he played for Christian Brothers High School … Was a two-time football MVP.
Personal: Son of Robert Mitchell and Dawanna Taylor; stepson of Loretta Robertson … Has three siblings: Justin Robertson, Joshua Robertson and Tiera Mitchell.
