Posted: July 26, 2007

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the third time this preseason, Lehigh is ranked in a national poll, as the Mountain Hawks are No. 24 in the USA Today Sports Weekly Football Championships Subdivision (FCS) Top-25 poll.  On Monday, Lehigh learned that it is ranked No. 21 in The College Sporting News (CSN) poll, while in May the Mountain Hawks checked in at No. 23 in the AnyGivenSaturday.com poll.  The top five spots in the USA Today poll went to Appalachian State, Massachusetts, Youngstown State, Montana and New Hampshire.

The Mountain Hawks are the lone Patriot League school ranked in the USA Today poll, while only one Lehigh opponent, Yale, is ranked as the Bulldogs sit at No. 23.  Lehigh won a share of its eighth Patriot League Championship in 2006 and returns quite a number of experienced players on both sides of the ball, including six All-League honorees.

Lehigh begins preseason camp on August 11 and opens its 2007 season on Saturday, September 8 at Goodman Stadium as the Mountain Hawks welcome Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) member Villanova to town.  Kick off is set for just after 1:00 and tickets can be purchased by calling 610-7LU-GAME, by visiting the Lehigh Athletics Ticket Office located in Grace Hall or by clicking on the link above.
