Coen adds three to incoming football class of 2016

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head coach Andy Coen has announced three additions to the Lehigh Football’s Class of 2016 on Friday, bringing the total number of recruits in the incoming class to 25. The Mountain Hawks, coming off their tenth Patriot League football title and a NCAA quarterfinal playoff berth, announced the signing of the initial 22 student-athletes back on February 8.
When the Mountain Hawks announced their class three weeks ago, Coen indicated that Lehigh would still look to sign a few more student-athletes. The three new signees include a pair of linemen who will bring size to the Mountain Hawks’ offensive and defensive lines plus an All-State wide receiver/return specialist from Florida. The Mountain Hawks’ Class of 2016 now features 11 offensive players, 13 defensive players and a kicker/punter.
The Mountain Hawks will begin their spring practice segment on March 23, with the annual Brown and White Spring Game set for Saturday, April 21.
The three recruits joining the class are:
Matthew Cohen – OL; 6-6; 280; Plainview, N.Y. / Phillips Academy (Andover); Arts and Sciences
Three sport athlete lettered in football, basketball and baseball…. Honor roll student… participated in band and jazz band programs.
Hayden Jones – WR/KR; 5-11; 180; Altamonte Springs, Fla./Lake Highland Prep; Business
2011 Florida All-State selection… Florida 4A District Player of the Year… Central Florida All Star… Lake Highland Prep MVP.
Rene Molinari – DL; 6-3; 260; Kensington, Md.; Albert Einstein HS; Business
Four year football letter winner… two-time first-team All-County defensive tackle… All-Gazette offensive lineman in 2011… recipient of Coaches Award in 2009…recipient of team MVP award in 2011…received several scholar-athlete awards…two time Student of the Month…member of Spanish National Honor Society.
