Trio of Lehigh seniors named ECAC All-Stars
Three Lehigh football players were named to the ECAC Football Championship Subdivision All-Star team announced Monday evening. A trio of seniors: offensive lineman Mike Vuono, nose guard Sajjad Chagani and linebacker Billy Boyko were named to the team on the heels of Lehigh’s third consecutive ten win season.

Barket named to Capital One Academic All-America second team
Lehigh senior running back Zach Barket has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I Football second team, it was announced Thursday. A four-year letter winner, Barket let the Mountain Hawks in rushing in each of the last two seasons, and is also one of Lehigh’s top performers in the classroom.

Lehigh tied for second in initial Presidents' Cup standings
The Patriot League announced its initial Presidents’ Cup standings on Tuesday with Lehigh tied for second overall at the completion of the fall season. Lehigh checks in with 32 points and tops the men’s overall standings with 16 points. The Mountain Hawk women are tied for fifth place with 16 points.

Seniors Barket and Spadola named to Academic All-League team
Two weeks after both players were named to the Capital One Academic All-District II football teams for the second straight year, Lehigh seniors Zach Barket and Ryan Spadola were named to the Academic All-Patriot League team, announced Monday. Both Mountain Hawk offensive standouts were selected to the team for the second consecutive season.

Mountain Hawks place 11 on All-Patriot League football teams
The Lehigh football team is well represented as the Patriot League announced its All-League teams and major award winners on Tuesday. The Mountain Hawks placed 11 student-athletes on the All-Patriot League teams, including seven who gained first team recognition. Lehigh’s 11 selections tied Fordham for most in the league.

Seniors Colvin, Loughery honored for performance in rivalry win
Following a 38-21 Lehigh victory over Lafayette in what became the final game of the Mountain Hawks 2012 season, two seniors were honored by the Patriot League for their strong performances Saturday. Quarterback Mike Colvin was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week while linebacker Sam Loughery earned Defensive Player of the Week laurels.

150th Lehigh-Lafayette game to be played at historic Yankee Stadium
One of the world’s most famous athletic venues will host the 150th meeting of “The Rivalry,” as the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks will battle the Lafayette College Leopards at Yankee Stadium in New York on Nov. 22, 2014.

Lehigh charges back for 38-21 win over Lafayette
Trailing 21-10 after the first quarter, the Lehigh football team charged back with a vengeance, downing Lafayette 38-21 Saturday in the 148th meeting between the two schools. It marked the Mountain Hawks’ fifth straight win over the Leopards as they improve to 10-1, their third straight double-digit win season. Senior Mike Colvin was named the game’s MVP, finishing with five touchdowns (four through the air) while passing for a career high-tying 362 yards and rushing for 82 more.

The 148th edition of college football’s most played rivalry will take place Saturday at Fisher Stadium as No. 12/14 Lehigh battles Lafayette. The Mountain Hawks will be looking to bounce back last week’s tough 35-24 setback to Colgate. Lehigh led 24-14 at halftime but was kept off the scoreboard in the second half as the Mountain Hawks suffered their first loss of the season.

Colgate deals No. 5/8 Lehigh first loss with 35-24 comeback win
No. 5/8 Lehigh raced out to a ten point halftime advantage, but Colgate rallied to outscore the Mountain Hawks 21-0 in the second half as the Raiders captured the Patriot League championship and automatic berth into the FCS playoffs with a 35-24 win Saturday at Goodman Stadium. Raider quarterback Gavin McCarney rushed for three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 9:14 to play as Colgate handed Lehigh its first loss of the season.

As the Lehigh football team prepares to play for a third straight Patriot League title on Saturday, two Mountain Hawks were recognized for their success in the classroom on Thursday as seniors Zach Barket and Ryan Spadola were named to the Capital One Academic All-District II Football team. The honor is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) whose schools are in the region.

The Patriot League’s automatic berth in the NCAA FCS Playoffs is on the line Saturday at Goodman Stadium as No. 5/8 Lehigh welcomes the Colgate Raiders and their high-powered offense. The Lehigh football team has made a habit of winning exciting, back-and-forth games in 2012 and Saturday at Holy Cross was no different. The No. 6/8 Mountain Hawks trailed by 12 points after three quarters but rallied to defeat the Crusaders 36-35 at Fitton Field. Back to work after bye, No. 6/8 Lehigh visits Holy Cross
Fresh off its bye week, No. 6/8 Lehigh heads to Worcester, Massachusetts to face the Holy Cross Crusaders Saturday at Fitton Field. Prior to the bye the Mountain Hawks capitalized on four blocked kicks to defeat Bucknell 42-19 on October 20 to move to 8-0 on the season. The lone undefeated team in the FCS, Lehigh has won its last 17 regular season games overall and its last 17 games against Patriot League opponents.

Lambert garners league and national honors for special teams efforts
The Lehigh football team tied a Patriot League record with four blocked kicks in its win over Bucknell Saturday at Goodman Stadium. Freshman Laquan Lambert accounted for two of the blocks and on Monday, he was recognized as both the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week and the Sports Network’s National Special Teams Player of the Week.

The No. 7/9 Lehigh football team opened a 21-6 lead then erased any doubt with 21 unanswered points to close the game as the Mountain Hawks remained undefeated with a 42-19 win over Bucknell Saturday on Homecoming at Goodman Stadium. Senior Mike Colvin finished 20-of-32 with 298 yards and five total touchdowns (three passing, two rushing) while the defense stood tall in forcing 11 Bison punts.

One of four undefeated teams remaining in the FCS, No. 7/9 Lehigh returns to Goodman Stadium Saturday to host the Bucknell Bison on Homecoming. The Mountain Hawks moved to 7-0 last weekend, overcoming seven turnovers in a 17-14 win over Georgetown in Washington, D.C. No. 10 Lehigh overcomes turnovers to hold off Georgetown 17-14
The tenth-ranked Lehigh football team overcame seven turnovers to earn their seventh consecutive victory to open the season as the Mountain Hawks held off Georgetown 17-14 Saturday at Multi-Sport field. After senior Jake Peery gave Lehigh the lead with a 29-yard field goal with 10:58 left, Matt MacZura missed a game-tying 37 yard attempt in the final seconds.

Ryan James to receive NFF High School Scholar-Athlete award
Lehigh freshman Ryan James has been named one of five football players nationally to be recognized as a 2012 NFF (National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame) National High School Scholar-Athlete. The five recipients were selected as the best scholar-athlete from their region of the country at the high school level.

Mountain Hawks head to D.C. to battle Georgetown Saturday
Winners of its first six games this season, tenth-ranked Lehigh heads to Washington D.C. to face the Georgetown Hoyas in the first official Patriot League game for both teams, Saturday at Multi-Sport Field. Both Lehigh and Georgetown opened league play against Fordham, with the Mountain Hawks winning 34-31 two weeks ago, and the Hoyas falling to the Rams 38-31 last weekend in the Bronx.

Coen, coaches to take part in Coach To Cure MD project Saturday
For the fifth consecutive year, college football coaches nationwide, including Lehigh head coach Andy Coen and his staff, will join together in support of the Coach to Cure MD program, which will be held during games of Saturday, September 29. Knott named Patriot League Rookie of the Week
Following a strong debut effort for the Lehigh football team, freshman Derek Knott was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday. Knott had a pair of receptions in the Mountain Hawks’ 27-17 win over Monmouth at Goodman Stadium, including a 19 yard catch-and-run for a touchdown on his first career reception.

No. 11 Lehigh pulls out 27-17 season-opening win over Monmouth
The No. 11/16 Lehigh football team jumped out to a 14-0 lead and held off a second-half charge for a 27-17 win over Monmouth in the season opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon in front of 6,350 at Goodman Stadium. Senior Michael Colvin finished 17-of-32 for 221 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in his debut as starting quarterback. Lehigh unveils 2012 football broadcast schedule
With the 2012 football season set to kick off on Saturday, Lehigh Athletics has announced its football broadcast schedule. This year, at least eight of Lehigh’s 11 regular season games will be televised – many available nationwide. For the ninth straight season, Lehigh football games will air live on ESPN Radio of the Lehigh Valley, located at 1230 (WEEX-AM, Easton) and 1320 (WTKZ-AM, Allentown).

Lehigh Athletics season, fall broadcast schedule to begin Friday
With the fall season set to get underway on Friday, Lehigh Athletics has announced its fall broadcast schedule. For the third straight year Lehigh has partnered with Stretch Internet to deliver fans live action via the Lehigh GameCentral portal. Most men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, and volleyball home contests will be broadcast live on the Lehigh web site as part of the GameCentral pay-per-view offering.

Mountain Hawks hold first scrimmage of preseason camp
On one of the warmest days of preseason camp thus far the Lehigh football team held its first scrimmage Friday inside Goodman Stadium. The Mountain Hawks have just under two weeks until their season opener against Monmouth as head coach Andy Coen put his team through a workout that clocked in just over two hours on a sunny afternoon with temperatures in the upper 80s.

Lehigh ranked 16th in Sports Network preseason poll
As the Lehigh football team opens its second week of preseason camp, the Mountain Hawks learned Monday that they earned a preseason national ranking in the first of two major polls to be released. Lehigh comes in at No. 16 in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 unveiled Monday afternoon. The two-time defending Patriot League champion Mountain Hawks are the only league squad to be ranked in the top 25.

Former All-American Cribbs joins football coaching staff
As the Lehigh football team opened preseason camp earlier this week, head coach Andy Coen announced that former All-American Jarard Cribbs ’11 has joined the Mountain Hawks coaching staff. Cribbs, a four-year letter winner for the Brown and White, will assist with Lehigh’s defensive backs. He replaces Charles Alexander who accepted a position at East Stroudsburg University.

Fresh off back-to-back Patriot League titles, the Lehigh football team returned to work with the beginning of preseason camp. The Mountain Hawks reported to campus on Monday for physicals and meetings and held their first workout of camp Tuesday under the lights on Frank Banko Field. Philadelpha Eagles set to land at Lehigh for training camp
For the 17th consecutive year, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to begin training camp on Lehigh University’s Goodman Campus. Rookies and select veterans will report to Bethlehem on Sunday, July 22 while all remaining veterans are slated to report to camp three days later. The first full-squad workouts are set for Friday, July 27 as the Eagles will make Lehigh their home for the next three and a half weeks.

Coen announces additions of Giacalone and Stovall to coaching staff
Lehigh head football coach Andy Coen announced on Tuesday the addition of Vincent Giacalone and Justin Stovall to the coaching staff. Giacalone will serve as Assistant Offensive Line Coach while Stovall takes over as Outside Linebackers Coach. Both have connections to Lehigh and the Patriot League as Giacalone’s brother Frank is a former offensive lineman at Lehigh while Stovall was a standout at Lafayette from 2003-06.

Lehigh finishes near top of Capital One Cup Men’s Standings
Following a stellar athletics season, Lehigh has finished 32nd in the final Capital One Cup Men’s Standings. The Mountain Hawks garnered 24 points due to three top-10 finishes (football, wrestling and men’s lacrosse). Lehigh finished ahead of numerous power schools including Michigan, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Michigan State and much more.

Spadola named to Walter Payton Award Watch List
Lehigh All-America wide receiver Ryan Spadola is one of 20 players named to the initial watch list for the Walter Payton Award, the Sports Network announced Thursday. Spadola is the second Mountain Hawk in as many years to be named to the watch list for the award, which is given to the outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision. Last year quarterback Chris Lum was added to the watch list in October, and went on to finish second in the voting.

Spadola garners preseason All-America honors from The Sports Network
Lehigh senior wide receiver Ryan Spadola has been named to the Sports Network Preseason All-America first team, it was announced Monday. The two-time All-American is coming off a record-setting junior season in which he caught 96 passes for 1,614 yards and 11 touchdowns. This marks the second straight season in which Spadola was named to a Sports Network Preseason All-America team.

First of three Lehigh football summer camp dates set for Saturday
The two-time defending Patriot League champion Lehigh football team will host the first of three summer camp dates Saturday June 9 on the Goodman Campus. For the first time in ten years, the Lehigh football program has captured the Lambert Cup, awarded by the ECAC to the top team in the Football Championship Subdivision. Lum finishes second in voting for Walter Payton Award
One of the finest single seasons in Lehigh and Patriot League history was enough to earn Mountain Hawks senior quarterback Chris Lum a trip to Texas as a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, given to the top player in the Football Championship Subdivision. Lehigh junior running back Zach Barket has been named to the 14th annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team, it was announced on Tuesday. Barket is one of 58 student-athletes from across the country selected to the team, and one of four representatives from the Patriot League.
