No. 10 Lehigh overcomes turnovers to hold off Georgetown 17-14
The tenth-ranked Lehigh football team overcame seven turnovers to earn their seventh consecutive victory to open the season as the Mountain Hawks held off Georgetown 17-14 Saturday at Multi-Sport field. After senior Jake Peery gave Lehigh the lead with a 29-yard field goal with 10:58 left, Matt MacZura missed a game-tying 37 yard attempt in the final seconds.

Ryan James to receive NFF High School Scholar-Athlete award
Lehigh freshman Ryan James has been named one of five football players nationally to be recognized as a 2012 NFF (National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame) National High School Scholar-Athlete. The five recipients were selected as the best scholar-athlete from their region of the country at the high school level.

Mountain Hawks head to D.C. to battle Georgetown Saturday
Winners of its first six games this season, tenth-ranked Lehigh heads to Washington D.C. to face the Georgetown Hoyas in the first official Patriot League game for both teams, Saturday at Multi-Sport Field. Both Lehigh and Georgetown opened league play against Fordham, with the Mountain Hawks winning 34-31 two weeks ago, and the Hoyas falling to the Rams 38-31 last weekend in the Bronx.

Colvin, Robb honored by league; Lehigh now ranked tenth
After posting its sixth straight victory to open the season, the Lehigh football team saw two student-athletes garner Patriot League weekly awards Monday. Senior quarterback Mike Colvin was named Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman linebacker Noah Robb was recognized as Rookie of the Week.

No. 10/11 Mountain Hawks roll past Columbia, 35-14
The Lehigh football team took an early 14-0 lead and didn’t look back as the Mountain Hawks improved to 6-0 behind a convincing 35-14 win over Columbia on Saturday. Senior Mike Colvin impressed, going 29-of-38 with four touchdowns while rushing for a score as well. Junior Sergio Fernandez-Soto had a career day with eight catches for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Lehigh and Columbia set to battle for first time since 1999
Lehigh closes out the non-league portion of its schedule Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks welcome Columbia to Goodman Stadium for the first meeting between the schools in football in 13 years. The No. 10/11 Mountain Hawks improved to 5-0 on the season as Jake Peery’s 22-yard field goal as time expired propelled Lehigh to a 34-31 win over Fordham last weekend.

Newton, Peery pick up Patriot League Weekly Awards
Lehigh sophomore defensive lineman Tim Newton and senior kicker Jake Peery were both honored by the Patriot League following the Mountain Hawks’ thrilling 34-31 victory over Fordham Saturday. Newton was tabbed as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week and Peery earned Special Teams Player of the Week recognition.

Last-second FG gives No. 11/15 Lehigh 34-31 win over Fordham
The No. 11/15 Lehigh football team fell down 14-0 just 7:36 into the game, but the Mountain Hawks fought back for a hard-fought 34-31 win over Fordham on Saturday afternoon. Lehigh went up 31-21 before the Rams evened the score, but senior Jake Peery hit a 22-yard field goal as time expired to walk off winners. The Mountain Hawks improve to 5-0 on the season, extending the nation’s longest regular season winning streak to 14.

Coen, coaches to take part in Coach To Cure MD project Saturday
For the fifth consecutive year, college football coaches nationwide, including Lehigh head coach Andy Coen and his staff, will join together in support of the Coach to Cure MD program, which will be held during games of Saturday, September 29. The rapidly growing annual effort has raised more than one million dollars to battle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy over the last four years.

No. 11/15 Lehigh opens two-game homestand Saturday vs. Fordham
The Mountain Hawks return to Goodman Stadium Saturday afternoon to face their first Patriot League foe of the season as the Fordham Rams visit Bethlehem. No. 11/15 Lehigh improved to 4-0 after a hard-fought 28-26 win at Liberty. Senior quarterback Mike Colvin rushed 68 yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter and senior linebacker Billy Boyko added a 39-yard interception return touchdown on the ensuing Flames series to give Lehigh a 28-20 lead.

Boyko garners league and national honors, Lehigh rises in polls
Lehigh senior linebacker Billy Boyko earned league and national honors for his performance in Lehigh’s 28-26 win over Liberty on Saturday. Boyko was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and the Sports Network National Defensive Player of the Week after recording a game and career-high 14 tackles, a sack and a game-changing interception that he returned 39 yards for a score.

No. 13/16 Lehigh comes back for thrilling 28-26 win at Liberty
The No. 13/16 Lehigh football team scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns in the span of 1:35 to shift momentum as the Mountain Hawks downed Liberty, 28-26, in front of 17,139 Saturday night at Williams Stadium. A quick start and finish were enough as Lehigh scored the game’s first 14 points and 14 of the final 20. Senior quarterback Mike Colvin finished 14-of-24 for 195 yards, but his biggest play was a 68-yard touchdown run to give Lehigh a 21-20 advantage.

Lehigh seeks 4-0 start Saturday under the lights at Liberty
No. 13/16 Lehigh heads to Virginia in search of its first 4-0 start in 11 years as the Mountain Hawks face Liberty Saturday under the lights at Williams Stadium. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 17-14 win over Princeton last week at Goodman Stadium; a game that saw Lehigh’s defense limit the Tigers to just 40 total yards and two first downs in the first half. The Lehigh offense helped build a 17-0 lead at halftime and produced two big plays in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

No. 13/16 Mountain Hawks hold off Princeton, 17-14
The Lehigh football team jumped out to a 17-0 lead and held off Princeton’s fourth-quarter charge to down the Tigers, 17-14 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Goodman Stadium. Senior quarterback Mike Colvin completed 21-of-34 for 276 yards (206 in the first half). The defense held Princeton without a first down until late in the first half, while holding the Tigers to just 206 total yards for the game.

After opening the season with two wins over NEC foes, No. 13/16 Lehigh returns to Goodman Stadium on Saturday to face the Princeton Tigers. The Mountain Hawks moved to 2-0 for the first time since 2003 beating Central Connecticut State 35-14 last Saturday in New Britain, Conn. Lehigh ‘s offense has started fast in both of its games this year as the Mountain Hawks have raced out to 14-0 first quarter leads in both games.

No. 14/16 Lehigh rides another fast start to 35-14 win at CCSU
The No. 14/16 Lehigh football team jumped out to a 14-0 lead less than five minutes into the game and wouldn’t look back, improving to 2-0 for the first time since 2003 with a convincing 35-14 win at Central Connecticut State Saturday at Arute Field. Senior Michael Colvin threw for 249 yards on 19-of-31 passing while the combination of senior Zach Barket and junior Keith Sherman ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns.

No. 14/16 Lehigh takes to the road for the first time in 2012 as the Mountain Hawks visit Central Connecticut State Saturday afternoon at Arute Field. The Mountain Hawks rode a strong first-half performance to a season-opening 27-17 win over Monmouth last weekend. Senior quarterback Mike Colvin threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the offense, while the defense came up with four turnovers to thwart a second half Hawks comeback attempt.

Knott named Patriot League Rookie of the Week
Following a strong debut effort for the Lehigh football team, freshman Derek Knott was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday. Knott had a pair of receptions in the Mountain Hawks’ 27-17 win over Monmouth at Goodman Stadium, including a 19 yard catch-and-run for a touchdown on his first career reception.

No. 11 Lehigh pulls out 27-17 season-opening win over Monmouth
The No. 11/16 Lehigh football team jumped out to a 14-0 lead and held off a second-half charge for a 27-17 win over Monmouth in the season opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon in front of 6,350 at Goodman Stadium. Senior Michael Colvin finished 17-of-32 for 221 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in his debut as starting quarterback. He found senior Ryan Spadola nine times for 111 yards to lead the offensive attack.
