ON COACH LEARY: "He is a guy that knows when to be tough and knows when to have fun. He has a high baseball IQ and knows what he is doing as a coach."

2013 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Played in 21 games, starting eight of them behind the plate…scored three runs for Lehigh in games against Drew and Patriot League foe Army…drove in two runs against rival Lafayette…went 2-for-4 in the series finale against Army.

2012 (FRESHMAN SEASON)

Played in 14 games, making seven starts…Did not commit an error on 53 putouts…Went 1-for-3 with a RBI at Army…Had his first multi-hit game against Scranton, going 2-for-5…Went a combined 4-for-12 (.333) with a RBI from April 8 to April 11 (three games)…Finished the year going 2-for-4 with a walk and a sacrifice in the final two games against Coppin State and Holy Cross.

BEFORE LEHIGH:
Lehigh’s second incoming class of 2015 freshman from the state of Florida, McKay was a four-year varsity starter at St. Petersburg Catholic High School. He garnered All-County honors his final three years, including first team laurels as a junior while also earning All-Tournament Team status from 2009-11 as well. McKay was named the team’s Defensive MVP in 2009 and MVP in 2011 while also cracking the All-Suncoast Team that same year. A senior captain, he was selected to participate in the Tampa Bay Rays’ All-Star Game at Tropicana Field. Strong in the classroom, McKay was named an All-Academic Team honoree (2011) and was Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2008 and ’10) and a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. He finished his high school career with a .385 career average and earned a 2011 Tropical Smoothie Athletic Scholarship. A two-sport athlete, McKay was an All-County honoree in 2009-10 and 2010-11 while serving as team captain in 2011. McKay played summer baseball for the West Florida Shockers, winning multiple Florida State and Perfect Game Championships.
