2013 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Made 10 appearances out of the bullpen…pitched a season-high four innings against Fordham…picked up a win after tossing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief and striking out three against UNC-Greensboro…third best on the team with a 3.86 ERA.
2012 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen…Tossed 2.2 scoreless innings while striking out three in his collegiate debut at California…Allowed three runs on six hits in a season-high 3.2 innings of relief against Columbia…Combined to throw 1.2 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts against Bucknell and Coppin State in back-to-back appearances.
BEFORE LEHIGH:
The 2011 North Warren High School captain, Macaione was named first team All-Conference for three years. An NJSIAA Senior All-Star Classic selection, Macaione was recognized by The Express Times as a two-time Player of the Week and first team All-Area honoree. He was also named second team All-West Jersey (Star Ledger). Macaione ranked third in the state for Legion Baseball Post 258. Also a star soccer player, he was a two-time second team All-Conference honoree. Macaione impressed in the classroom, earning Male Scholar-Athlete (2010-11) while making the Principal’s List four straight years. Other honors included: 2011 baseball captain, 2011 MVP and 2010-11 Male Outstanding Athlete. Macaione owns the single-season hit record (42) and is the all-time wins leader as a pitcher (18).
