BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After opening its season with a strong showing at the Lehigh Valley Season Opener, four members of the Lehigh track and field teams earned Patriot League weekly awards on Monday. Junior Stephen Tutunjian was named Male Field Athlete of the Week, while sophomore E’lana Lemon was named Female Field Athlete of the Week. Freshmen Ryan Paquin and Brooke Astor garnered the league’s Male and Female Rookie of the Week awards.

Tutunjian won a pair of events at the Lehigh Valley Season Opener Friday and Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse. The highlight of the weekend for the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts native was a triple jump of 14.77 meters, which met the IC4A qualifying mark and was good for first place. Tutunjian also leapt 6.93 meters to win the long jump.

Lemon earns Field Athlete of the Week honors after winning the weight throw with a distance of 15.52 meters. The New Jersey native fell just .08 meters short of the ECAC qualifying standard. She also finished 13th in the shot put with a score of 8.94 meters.

Paquin won the men’s heptathlon with 4,533 points in his first collegiate competition. He won three of seven events: the 60 meter dash, long jump and 60 meter hurdles, and finished no worse than fourth in any event. The Orlando, Florida native beat second place finisher, junior Kyle Forrest from Lehigh, by 48 points.

Astor joined Paquin to give Lehigh a pair of multi-event winners on the weekend. She won four of five events to capture the pentathlon with 3,022 points. The New Jersey native won the 60 meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and 800 meter run, failing only to win the shot put where she placed seventh.

Lehigh will host a second event, Lehigh Fast Times Before Finals, Friday at 6 p.m. inside Rauch Fieldhouse.
