Lehigh excited for Patriot League Championship Game Sunday
The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team ran away from Colgate in the Patriot League Semifinals Friday night. The Mountain Hawks used a third-quarter surge to take a 10-1 lead and erase any doubt. For a second straight season, they’d be playing for a Patriot League Championship.

#14/16 Lehigh dominates Colgate to advance to championship game
The #14/16 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team went on an 8-0 run spanning nearly 26 minutes in the second and third quarters to reach the Patriot League Championship Game for the second straight year as the Mountain Hawks defeated Colgate 15-7 in a semifinal Friday night at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Mountain Hawks built a 10-goal lead late in the third quarter and coasted to their 11th win of the season.

Mountain Hawks season ends with 4-1 loss to Colgate in PLT
The Lehigh women’s tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 4-1 loss to Colgate Friday in a Patriot League quarterfinal matchup at Army’s Malek Tennis Courts. Junior Jenai Bilimoria picked up a singles win for the fifth-seeded Mountain Hawks but the No. 4 seed Raiders won the doubles point and three singles matches to advance to Saturday’s semifinals against top seed Army.

Lehigh baseball’s class of 2013 reflects on their careers
Prior to the Lehigh baseball team’s Patriot League series openeer versus Navy at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Goodman Campus, the Lehigh baseball program will recognize its four graduating seniors. The program’s class of 2013 features pitchers and outfielders who helped the program to its last Patriot League Tournament appearance in 2010.

Lehigh hosts Navy with spot in PL tournament at stake
The Lehigh baseball team will conclude its 2013 regular season by playing a pair of doubleheaders against Navy with a spot in the Patriot League Tournament on the line. First pitch from the Goodman Campus is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Lehigh set to host league championship at Saucon Valley CC
Lehigh will host the 2013 Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship this weekend on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Championship will consist of a two-day, 54-hole format with the seven participating schools playing 36 holes on Saturday and the final 18 holes Sunday on the 7,051 yard, par 72 Grace Course.

#14/16 Lehigh hosts first Patriot League Tournament this weekend
The #14/16 nationally-ranked and top-seeded Lehigh men’s lacrosse team will open the Patriot League Tournament on Friday when it hosts fourth-seeded Colgate. Opening faceoff at the Ulrich Sports Complex is set for 7:30 p.m. following the first game of the day featuring second-seeded Bucknell against third-seeded Army at 4:30 p.m. The entire Patriot League Tournament will air live nation-wide on CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan, Evan Washburn and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the call.

Lehigh heads to Colgate looking to clinch PL regular season title
The final weekend of the Patriot League regular season has Lehigh heading to Hamilton, N.Y. for a key four game series against the Colgate Raiders. The Mountain Hawks and Raiders will play doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at Eaton Street Field, with Lehigh needing to win just one of the four games to clinch its second straight Patriot League regular season title.

In its final non-league game of the 2013 regular season, the Lehigh baseball team lost to Seton Hall 17-7. The Brown and White enter their final four games of the year with an 18-25 record after the contest and the Pirates improve to 22-16.

Lanius, Souders and Snyder earn Academic All-League honors
Lehigh seniors Baxter Lanius and Ryan Snyder along with junior Ty Souders have been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, as announced on Wednesday. For Snyder and Souders, it comes one day after they both earned Second Team All-Patriot League laurels. Lehigh’s three honorees are most from any school in the league.

Three Mountain Hawks earn All-League honors
Following strong 2013 seasons, Lehigh women’s lacrosse senior Julie McBrien and sophomores Carli Sukonik and Lauren Willcox have earned Second Team All-Patriot League, as announced on Tuesday. McBrien led the Mountain Hawks in goals (33) and points (36) while Sukonik was right behind with 25 goals and 28 points. Willcox helped anchor a young defense that continues to grow.

Mountain Hawks sweep Columbia in final home doubleheader
The Lehigh softball team eclipsed the 30 win mark for the 13th consecutive season as the Mountain Hawks swept a doubleheader from Columbia Tuesday at Kaufman Field. Junior Ashley Quigley threw six innings of two-hit ball as Lehigh took the opener 5-1, while senior Rosie Roessel’s sixth inning RBI infield single broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Mountain Hawks a 4-3 nightcap win.

Poillon named Goalie of the Year, seven garner All-League
Lehigh sophomore goalie Matt Poillon has been named Patriot League Goalie of the Year for a second straight season, while six others joined him as All-League honorees, as announced on Tuesday. Poillon and senior Mike Noone were named to the First Team while seniors David DiMaria, Brian Hess, Ryan Snyder, junior Ty Souders and sophomore Patrick Corbett garnered Second Team laurels.

Mountain Hawks to conclude non-league play against Seton Hall
Playing in its fifth road game in four days, the Lehigh baseball team will look to begin its final week of the 2013 regular season on the right foot when it goes up against Seton Hall at 4 p.m. Wednesday in South Orange, N.J. Lehigh’s record has dropped to 18-24 as the team looks to snap an eight-game losing streak, while the Pirates are 21-16 after Georgetown snapped their four-game win streak Sunday.
