Lehigh falls in two low-scoring affairs against Holy Cross
The Lehigh baseball team suffered its first series sweep of the season by falling to Holy Cross 3-2 and 4-0 in a doubleheader Sunday. The Mountain Hawks are 18-24 overall and 5-11 in Patriot League action, while the Crusaders are 22-20 overall and sit atop the league with a mark of 12-4 on the season.

Lehigh wins inaugural Patriot League Women's Golf Championship
The inaugural Patriot League Women’s Golf Championship went down to the wire Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Course but Lehigh held off Bucknell by three strokes to capture the team title. Senior Chelsea Michalek posted a five stroke victory to be the first Patriot League individual medalist as Lehigh finished the tournament at 315-317-309-941.

Lehigh completes sweep of Holy Cross behind dominant pitching
Behind a pair of dominant pitching performances from senior Becca Bliss and sophomore Emily Bausher, the Lehigh softball team completed a four-game sweep of Holy Cross with two wins Sunday at Kaufman Field. Bliss struck out a career-high 11 in her third straight two-hit shutout as Lehigh took the opener 8-0 in six innings, while Bausher followed with a one-hitter and 13 strikeouts as the Mountain Hawks took the nightcap 4-0.

Lehigh Rowing wins River Cup over Lafayette
The Lehigh rowing team won all but two races to dominate Lafayette and capture the River Cup on Saturday. Both Varsity Eight crews won to keep the men’s, women’s and overall River Cups in Bethlehem for at least another year. The day also marked a celebration of the program’s 25th anniversary season as several alums returned for the racing, and dinner at night.

Mountain Hawks 12th after opening round at Navy
The Lehigh men’s golf team opened action at the Navy Spring Invitational with a round of 26 over par 310 Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks are tied for 12th place in the 21-team field but sit just 16 strokes behind the leaders.

Lehigh outlasts Bucknell to advance to Patriot League final
For the second time in three years, the Lehigh men’s tennis team will play for a Patriot League title as the Mountain Hawks outlasted Bucknell 4-3 Saturday in a Patriot League semifinal at Drumlins Country Club. The match came down to No. 6 singles where junior Timur Chernykh rallied from a set down to defeat Octavio Canibe in straight sets.

#14/16 Lehigh storms past rival Lafayette, 14-5
The #14/16 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team jumped on archrival Lafayette early and often, closing the regular season with an impressive 14-5 on Saturday evening. Sophomore Dan Taylor had a monster game with a career-high four goals and seven points while David DiMaria posted three goals and three assists on his Senior Night. The defense allowed just two even strength goals on the evening as it’s allowed seven or fewer goals in six of its last seven games.

Mountain Hawks drop pair of close contests at Holy Cross
The Lehigh baseball team (18-22, 5-9 PL) lost both games of a doubleheader against Holy Cross (20-20, 10-4 PL) on Saturday, falling 3-1 and 9-6 respectively. Senior Casey Turner hit 4-for-7 and scored four runs in the twinbill, including a steal of home in the first inning of game two. Junior Tyler Brong went a combined 5-for-6 at the plate in the two games.

Michalek, Mountain Hawks lead Patriot League Championship after day one
With senior Chelsea Michalek leading the way, the Lehigh women’s golf team is off to a strong start after day one of the inaugural Patriot League Championship on the Bucknell Golf Course. Michalek holds a seven stroke lead over two players after the opening 36 holes, while as a team the Mountain Hawks lead the four team field by five strokes over second place Bucknell.

Defense holds off offense in Brown and White Spring Game
The Lehigh football team completed its spring practice segment with the annual Brown and White game, held on a sunny but breezy Saturday morning inside Goodman Stadium. With a modified scoring system in place, the Brown team (defense) defeated the White (offense) 46-37. Both units had strong moments as the defense intercepted three passes, while the offense put the ball in the end zone on two occasions.

Seniors shine as Lehigh takes first two from Holy Cross
Several of Lehigh’s seniors played a key role as the Mountain Hawks swept a doubleheader from Holy Cross Saturday on senior day at Kaufman Field. Becca Bliss fired a two-hit shutout and Lehigh scored five sixth-inning runs to take the opener 5-0, while Liz Lucas’ three-run home run gave the Mountain Hawks a come-from-behind 4-2 win in the nightcap.

Lehigh gets off to quick start, but falls at Holy Cross
The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team scored five of the first six goals, but Holy Cross responded with a vengeance as the Crusaders came back to down the Mountain Hawks, 14-6 on Friday. Lehigh’s five goals came in the game’s first 8:42, but it wasn’t enough. Senior Julie McBrien and sophomore Carli Sukonik scored two goals apiece to lead the way.

Lehigh heads to Navy for final tournament before PL Championship
The Lehigh men’s golf team will play in its final event before hosting next week’s Patriot League Championship as the Mountain Hawks head to Annapolis, Maryland for the two-day Navy Spring Invitational. Five of the seven Patriot League schools that sponsor men’s golf will play a total of 36 holes Saturday and Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Club.

#14/16 Lehigh returns home to host Lafayette on Senior Night
Riding four straight wins, the #14/16 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team will close out the regular season on Saturday night when it hosts Lafayette. Faceoff on Senior Night is set for 7 p.m. Lehigh’s 14 seniors will be recognized prior to their final home regular season games in the Brown & White. The Mountain Hawks will return home for at least one additional game next weekend as they earned the #1 seed in the Patriot League Tournament with an 11-7 win at #9/11 Bucknell last Friday.

Mountain Hawks advance to semifinals with 4-0 win over Holy Cross
The Lehigh men’s tennis team advanced to the Patriot League semifinals for the fourth straight year with a dominant 4-0 win over Holy Cross Friday in the opening round of the Patriot League Tournament at Drumlins Country Club. Senior Matt Savran and sophomore Ben Gilman won in both doubles and singles play as Lehigh improves to 16-5 on the season.
