Five Mountain Hawks heading to NCAA East Regional
Lehigh’s track and field teams will be sending five athletes to compete at the NCAA East Regional from May 23-25 in Greensboro, N.C. Senior Devin Monroe will run in the first round of the 400 meter dash, while junior Pat Ciez and sophomore Adeolu Adesida have earned spots in the high jump. On the women’s side, junior Jimil Ataman and senior E’lana Lemon will represent the Brown and White in the hammer throw at North Carolina A&T’s Irwin Belk Track.

DiMaria to join Cannons; Lao-Gosneys enjoying success in MLL
Following a stellar collegiate career, Lehigh senior David DiMaria will join his Major League Lacrosse team (Boston) on Saturday and suit up for its game against the Bayhawks. Lehigh alums Cameron and Roman Lao-Gosney are also enjoying early-season success for the Hamilton Nationals.

Three from Lehigh land on NFCA All-Region teams
Three members of the Lehigh softball program were recognized Thursday as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced its All-Region teams. Freshman third baseman Morgan Decker was a first team Mid-Atlantic Region selection while Lehigh’s top two pitchers, senior Becca Bliss and sophomore Emily Bausher, were named to the second team.

Lehigh heads to Patriot League Championships on Friday
The Lehigh women’s rowing team will wrap up its season on Friday when it heads to Worcester, Mass. for the Patriot League Championships on Lake Quinsigamond. The Mountain Hawks look to carry the moment from a successful Dad Vail Regatta and continue their improvement while competing for a Patriot League Title.

Mountain Hawks set for first NCAA Regional appearance
The Lehigh men’s golf team prepares to make its first ever NCAA appearance as the Mountain Hawks head to Tempe, Ariz. for the NCAA Tempe Regional beginning Thursday. The three-day, 54-hole event will be played on the 7,036-yard, par-70 ASU Karsten Golf Course.

Boyko, Spadola kick off pro careers at rookie mini-camps
Former Lehigh standouts Billy Boyko and Ryan Spadola took to NFL practice fields for the first time as the undrafted free agent signees participated in Rookie Mini-Camps this past weekend. Boyko was in Alameda, Calif. With the Oakland Raiders, while Spadola worked out in Florham Park, N.J. with the New York Jets.

Pair of Mountain Hawks selected to Academic All-Patriot League Team
Lehigh track and field junior Jimil Ataman and senior Lauren Pietrosh were named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the league announced Monday. The two Mountain Hawks are among a group of 10 athletes that hold a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.45. A History major, Ataman has held a 3.55 cumulative GPA while Pietrosh has maintained a 3.90 cumulative GPA in marketing during her career.

Beauchamp named to Academic All-Patriot League Team
Lehigh track and field junior Benjamin Beauchamp was selected as one of 10 members of the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the league announced Monday. The Electrical Engineering major from Spencer, N.Y., earned the distinction for the first time in his career after holding a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average.

Team awards announced at annual team banquet
The Lehigh men’s basketball team held its annual “Zell” Awards Banquet and 2012-13 award winners were announced last month (Saturday, Apr. 14) at Lamberton Hall on campus. The dinner included a welcome from Associate Athletic Director Bill Griffin, remarks from a standout senior class, an awards ceremony, special banquet video and more.

Astor shatters own record, sprinters perform well at outdoor regional championships
Lehigh’s women’s and men’s track and field teams followed up the Patriot League Outdoor Championships by sending 19 athletes to compete at the ECAC and IC4A Championships in Princeton, N.J. The women’s team had five competitors across three events at the regional meet, which lasted from Friday to Sunday. The men were represented by 14 athletes in 10 different events.

Women’s Freshmen Eight takes bronze to highlight Dad Vail Regatta
The Lehigh rowing team wrapped up a highly successful Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday with two freshmen crews making the finals including a third-place, bronze medal finish by the Women’s Freshmen Eight. In total, six of the Mountain Hawks’ crews competed in the semifinals on Saturday. Lehigh was the only school to have the Women’s Freshmen Four and Freshmen Eight in the grand finals.

Army stuns Lehigh with two shutouts to claim PL Championship
Lehigh entered Saturday needing just one win to claim its third consecutive Patriot League championship, but Army had other ideas. Army pitcher Morgan Lashley threw a pair of shutouts as the Black Knights stunned the Mountain Hawks 4-0 and 5-0 at Kaufman Field to claim their first title since 2002.

Big second quarter leads UNC past Lehigh in NCAA Tourney
The #10 nationally-ranked Lehigh men’s lacrosse team led 2-1 after a quarter, but #1 ranked and #5 seed UNC used a 5-0 surge in the second to take a lead that it wouldn’t relinquish as the Mountain Hawks fell 16-7 on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament. Sophomore Matt Poillon was stellar between the pipes with a career-high 17 saves while senior David DiMaria ended a strong career with two goals and three assists.

Lehigh's memorable season ends with loss to No. 6 Ole Miss at NCAAs
The Lehigh men’s tennis team saw a memorable spring season come to an end Friday as the Patriot League champions fell 4-0 to No.6 seed Mississippi in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks battled hard in their first NCAA appearance but the seventh-ranked Rebels proved too strong.

Six crews advance to Saturday at Dad Vail Regatta
Six of the eight crews from Lehigh rowing advanced to Saturday’s Semifinals in a highly successful day one at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta Friday. The six semifinalists are more than last season as the Mountain Hawks continue to show tremendous improvement. Saturday’s Finals will be broadcast live on 6ABC in Philadelphia and online on ESPN3.com.

Lehigh jumps out with 3-1 victory against Colgate to open PLT
The top seeded Lehigh softball team scored in each of the first two innings on its way to a 3-1 victory over fourth seeded Colgate on Thursday at Kaufman Field to open Patriot League Tournament play. With the victory, the Mountain Hawks extended their winning streak to 13 games matching the 2005 Lehigh squad and last year’s Army team for the longest winning streak in league history.

Lehigh sending 19 athletes to compete at regional championships
Following their impressive performances at the Outdoor Patriot League Championships, the Lehigh men’s and women’s track and field teams will be competing at the IC4A and ECAC Championships on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Princeton, N.J. The men’s team will have 14 representatives at the IC4A meet while the women will send five athletes to ECAC competition.
