Noone and Poillon earn Patriot League weekly awards
A pair of Lehigh men’s lacrosse players have earned Patriot League weekly honors following Saturday’s 13-10 win over Patriot League foe Colgate, as announced on Monday. Senior Mike Noone earned Defensive Player of the Week and Matt Poillon garnered Goalie of the Week for their standout performances. Senior Dante Fantoni also earned honorable mention recognition for his efforts.

Lehigh to face Rider and Delaware State in break from PL action
The Lehigh baseball team will take a midweek break from Patriot League play when it goes up against Rider in a rescheduled game on Tuesday and hosts Delaware State on Wednesday. The contest at Rider was postponed from March 6 due to rain. First pitch for both games is slated for 3:30 p.m.

Women's tennis heads to Lafayette for rivalry match Tuesday
The Lehigh women’s tennis team looks to get back on the winning track Tuesday as the Mountain Hawks travel to rival Lafayette for their final road match of the regular season. The Mountain Hawks will be looking to bounce back from a tough 5-2 loss to Colgate on Sunday while also looking to strengthen their positioning for the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.

Two softball seniors collect Patriot League weekly awards
Two Lehigh softball players earned Patriot League Weekly honors following their performances as the Mountain Hawks went 4-1 last week in action against Rider and Lafayette. Senior Rosie Roessel was named Player of the Week for the first time in her career, while senior Becca Bliss earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week.

Reed receives Guardian of the Game Award at the Final Four
Lehigh men’s basketball coach Brett Reed received an NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Guardian of the Game Award Sunday evening at the Final Four® in Atlanta. Reed was presented the Education award presented to a coach committed to continuing education and the development of their profession in order to be better mentors, teachers and leaders. Reed joins select company, including legendary UCLA coach John Wooden who won the first award in 2002.

Lehigh earns hard-fought road win at Colgate
The Lehigh men’s tennis team posted its second straight Patriot League win as the Mountain Hawks went on the road to defeat Colgate 6-1 Sunday at the Turning Stone Resort. The Mountain Hawks swept three tough doubles matches and won the first four singles flights and five of six singles matches overall to earn the victory.

Lehigh’s bats break out in historic second game of twinbill against Army
After suffering a 3-1 defeat to Army in game one, the Lehigh Baseball team broke out with a 19-10 drubbing of the Black Knights in the nightcap to split a Sunday doubleheader at Goodman Campus. Lehigh’s 19 runs and 22 hits were the highest totals since a 19-19 tie at Saint Joseph’s during the 2009 season.

Mountain Hawks start strong at Lafayette Invitational
Behind a balanced team effort, the Lehigh men’s golf team sits in a tie for second place in the 18-team Lafayette Invitational after the opening round of play Sunday at Northampton Country Club. The Mountain Hawks shot 303 on day one tying Central Connecticut State for second place, one stroke behind Saint Peter’s which holds the 18-hole lead.

Mountain Hawks fall 5-2 at Colgate on Sunday
Junior Jenai Bilimoria and sophomore Abby Farrell were winners in both doubles and singles action, but the Lehigh women’s tennis team fell to Colgate 5-2 Sunday at Turning Stone. The Mountain Hawks lost the doubles point in a tiebreak and could only muster two singles wins, as they fall to 4-11 overall and 1-2 in league matches.

Mountain Hawks fall to American, 16-8
Lehigh fought back from an early 3-0 deficit to pull even at four, but American responded with a 5-0 run to end the half and rode the momentum in the second as the Mountain Hawks dropped a 16-8 final on Sunday. Senior Julie McBrien scored five of Lehigh’s goals, including the first four.

Strong pitching powers Lehigh to Sunday sweep of Lafayette
Lehigh pitchers combined to allow just one run on three hits as the Mountain Hawks swept a doubleheader from Lafayette Sunday at Kaufman Field. Senior Becca Bliss allowed a run on two hits as the Mountain Hawks took game one 9-1 in five innings, and sophomore Emily Bausher followed with a complete-game one-hit shutout as Lehigh took the nightcap 5-0.

Mountain Hawks continue success at Neuweiler Plate
The Lehigh rowing team continued its success at the Neuweiler Plate by winning all but two races to capture its third straight Neuweiler Plate crown on Saturday. An overall team effort saw the Mountain Hawks win nine races, including the Women’s Freshmen Four by a significant margin over the second place finisher.

Brong’s heroics lift Lehigh to split versus Army
The Lehigh baseball team bounced back from a heartbreaking 1-0 loss in game one to earn a 4-3 extra inning victory and a Patriot League doubleheader split against Army. Brong hit the game-tying home run to send the nightcap into extra innings and roped a walk off single down the left field line to bring home senior Casey Turner for the winning run in the 10th.

Mountain Hawks split series-opening doubleheader with Lafayette
Freshman MacKenzie Velasquez went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in as Lehigh downed rival Lafayette 6-1 in the opening game of a doubleheader Saturday at Kaufman Field. The Mountain Hawks had to settle for a split however, as Lafayette took the nightcap 2-1 in eight innings, in a game in which Lehigh left nine runners on base.

Big fourth quarter leads #18/19 Lehigh past Colgate, 13-10
In a heated rematch of last season’s Patriot League Championship Game, #18/19 Lehigh and Colgate combined for 23 goals and 20 penalties, but it was the Mountain Hawks who came up big when it mattered most. Lehigh broke an 8-8 tie after three quarters, outscoring Colgate 5-2 in the fourth for a big 13-10 win on Saturday in Goodman Stadium. The victory sets up a big showdown at Bucknell next Friday with the winner clinching the Patriot League Regular Season Title.
