MELBOURNE, Fla. – Lehigh wrapped up its spring break trip to Florida with a 6-1 loss to Evansville Tuesday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks won just one doubles match, and junior Ariela Cohen delivered Lehigh’s only team point with a win at No. 4 singles, as Lehigh falls to 4-5 on the season.
In doubles play, Lehigh dropped the first two flights, but picked up a win at the No. 3 flight as sophomores Stacey Reich and Julie Arthofer defeated Susan Elliott and Allie Cox 8-5.
The Purple Aces (6-3) picked up five straight set wins in singles play to put the match out of reach. Cohen won a third set ten point tiebreak over Stephanie Mills at No. 4 singles to earn Lehigh’s only point 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Thursday, March 13 when they welcome Delaware to the Lewis Tennis Center, with first serves set for 4 p.m.
