Lehigh closes out fall season at Frostbite Regatta

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh closed out its 2007 fall season on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks competed in the Frostbite Regatta along the Schuylkill River. Lehigh competed in 14 events and put forth a number of impressive showings, including first place finishes by the men’s and women’s novice eights, the college men’s four, and the women’s lightweight eight. The women’s varsity eight boat also posted the second fastest time of any women’s varsity eight on the day with a 7:05.44 showing.
Lehigh's first place boats on the day were the college women's novice with a time of 7:35.47, which was 27 seconds than the next fastest boat. The college men's novice four boat crossed in a time of 6:32.25 and also finished first, while Lehigh captured first and second place in the college men's four race. The college women's lightweight boat won its race with a time of 7:26.32 rounding out the Lehigh first place finishes.

Lehigh will now move onto the winter training segment of its season and will return to the water for its first race of the spring season on March 29 when the Mountain Hawks head to Philadelphia to compete in the Murphy Cup.
