Lehigh ties for fourth at league championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – Lehigh competed in the 2007 Patriot League Championships on Sunday, which took place on Lake Quinsigamond, and the Mountain Hawks finished in a tie for fourth place with host Holy Cross as both school scored ten points. Bucknell won the team crown with 30 points, followed by Navy with 24 and Colgate with 16.
In the varsity four race, Bucknell took first with a time of 7:32, followed by Navy with a time of 7:37, Colgate (7:40), Lehigh (8:01) and Holy Cross (8:17). In the second varsity eight race, Bucknell again took first, this time crossing in 6:42, followed by Navy in a time of 6:48, Holy Cross (7:04), Colgate (7:12) and Lehigh (7:14). Bucknell also won the varsity eight race crossing in a time of 6:34, followed by Navy with a time of 6:39, Colgate (6:48), Lehigh (6:56) and Holy Cross (7:05).
Bucknell’s I Eight was named the Boat of the Year, while Steve Kish who coached the Bison to the championship, was named the Coach of the Year.
Lehigh returns to action on May 11 when the Mountain Hawks compete in the Dad Vail Championships, held in Philadelphia.
