Lemon finishes 17th, Ataman ends in 30th at NCAA East Regional
Two athletes from the Lehigh women’s track and field team ended their outdoor seasons with successful performances at the NCAA East Regional on Friday. Competing in the second flight in the preliminaries of the hammer throw, senior E’lana Lemon finished 17th and junior Jimil Ataman placed 30th out of the 48 athletes in the event.

2013 Lehigh Football season tickets now on sale
Lehigh football season tickets are now on sale for the general public as of Friday, May 24. Earlier this month, season ticket renewal forms were sent out to those who previously held tickets, and now all Lehigh football fans have the opportunity to purchase a package that includes tickets to all five regular season home games including the 149th meeting between Lehigh and archrival Lafayette.

Four from Lehigh men’s lacrosse named All-Americans
Seniors David DiMaria and Mike Noone, junior Ty Souders and sophomore Matt Poillon were all named USILA honorable mention All-Americans on Thursday as the postseason recognition for the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team continues. The four All-America honorees breaks the previous school record of three from last season. Souders and Poillon earn All-America recognition for a second straight season.

Four Mountain Hawks to play in North-South Game Friday
Lehigh seniors David DiMaria, Dante Fantoni, Mike Noone and Ryan Snyder will suit up for the South on Friday for the 72nd annual USILA/LaxWorld Division I-II Senior North-South Game. Opening faceoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. Lehigh’s four representatives mark the most from any school nationally and break last year’s school record of three Mountain Hawks to play in the game.

Troyan announces women’s basketball 2017 recruiting class
Lehigh women’s basketball coach Sue Troyan announced the addition of four athletes that will comprise the team’s Class of 2017. Forwards Lexi Martins and Kiernan McCloskey and guards Kayla Burton and Kari Moffat will join the Mountain Hawks prior to the 2013-14 season. Lehigh will be looking to capture its fourth 20-win season since 2008.

McBrien to play in IWLCA North-South Game Sunday
Recently graduated Lehigh women’s lacrosse standout Julie McBrien will play in the 2013 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association/Under Armour North-South All-Star Game this Sunday, May 26. The game will start at 11:30 a.m. on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. McBrien becomes the third Mountain Haw in as many years selected for the prestigious event.

Lehigh to host Women's National Tournament this weekend
The U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament heads to Bethlehem this weekend, which includes a showdown between Team USA and Team Canada on Saturday. The tournament began in 1933 to showcase the best post-collegiate and club women’s lacrosse players and has grown into one of the largest women’s lacrosse events in the nation.

Hess and Snyder named USILA Scholar All-Americans
Lehigh seniors Brian Hess and Ryan Snyder have been named USILA Scholar All-Americans, as announced on Tuesday. The two honorees were the most in the Patriot League, joining Army’s Brendan Buckley, Bucknell’s Mike Huffner and Colgate’s Peter Baum as five of the more than 90 individuals across Division I, II and III recognized.

Mountain Hawks once again garner NWCA academic honors
In addition to another successful season on the mats, the Lehigh wrestling program was recognized for its work in the classroom as the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its All-Academic Individuals and top 30 teams late Monday. The Mountain Hawks tied for sixth in the country with a 3.23 team GPA, while seniors Robert Hamlin and Shane Welsh and junior Joey Napoli were named to the individual All-Academic Team.

McCollum enjoys busy stretch with combine, graduation and draft lottery
Former Lehigh standout C.J. McCollum is in the midst of a busy stretch with the NBA Combine last weekend followed by graduation on Monday and the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday. McCollum’s stock has continued to rise and is predicted by many as a top-10 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. He walked at graduation Monday and was one of nearly Lehigh 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students to receive their diplomas.

Lehigh retains men's Presidents' Cup; finishes third overall
Lehigh finished third in the final Patriot League Presidents’ Cup standings announced Monday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks won a school-record five Patriot League titles in the 2012-13 academic year, en route to their fourth straight top three Presidents’ Cup finish. Lehigh won the men’s trophy for the second straight year, while the Mountain Hawk women finished third.

Mountain Hawks conclude season at NCAA Tempe Regional
The Lehigh men’s golf team completed its spring season Saturday at the NCAA Tempe Regional on the ASU Karsten Golf Course. Junior Alex DiClemente led the Mountain Hawks on Saturday shooting even par 70, the lowest round of the tournament for Lehigh. The Mountain Hawks finished in 14th place in their first NCAA Regional appearance with a final score of 892 (301-295-296).

Lehigh makes six stroke improvement Friday at NCAA Tempe Regional
The Lehigh men’s golf team showed improvement on day two of the NCAA Tempe Regional. Four of the five Mountain Hawks bettered their first round scores as Lehigh shot 295 Friday at the ASU Karsten Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks were 15 over par on Friday and remain in 14th place at 36 over par 596 (301-295).

Santoro welcomes six newcomers to Lehigh wrestling program
Lehigh head coach Pat Santoro has announced the addition of six student-athletes, who will join the Mountain Hawks’ wrestling program in the fall. Six states are represented among the incoming class, which features three grapplers who project at 125 pounds. In addition, two of the six incoming wrestlers are siblings of current Mountain Hawks.

Cassese set for role as ESPN guest analyst this weekend
Lehigh head men’s lacrosse coach Kevin Cassese will join Anish Shroff and analyst Mark Dixon in studio this weekend for the NCAA Quarterfinal games on Saturday and Sunday. It marks the second straight season that Cassese will serve as a guest analyst for the quarterfinals. Abrams, Kim pace Lehigh on day one of NCAA Tempe Regional
In its first appearance in the NCAA Regional, the Lehigh men’s golf team held things together through the front nine, but the Mountain Hawks ran into collective trouble on the back nine to shoot 301 in round one Thursday at the ASU Karsten Golf Course. Pair of Mountain Hawks selected to Academic All-Patriot League Team
Lehigh track and field junior Jimil Ataman and senior Lauren Pietrosh were named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the league announced Monday. The two Mountain Hawks are among a group of 10 athletes that hold a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.45. A History major, Ataman has held a 3.55 cumulative GPA while Pietrosh has maintained a 3.90 cumulative GPA in marketing during her career.

Big second quarter leads UNC past Lehigh in NCAA Tourney
The #10 nationally-ranked Lehigh men’s lacrosse team led 2-1 after a quarter, but #1 ranked and #5 seed UNC used a 5-0 surge in the second to take a lead that it wouldn’t relinquish as the Mountain Hawks fell 16-7 on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament. Sophomore Matt Poillon was stellar between the pipes with a career-high 17 saves while senior David DiMaria ended a strong career with two goals and three assists.

Lehigh jumps out with 3-1 victory against Colgate to open PLT
The top seeded Lehigh softball team scored in each of the first two innings on its way to a 3-1 victory over fourth seeded Colgate on Thursday at Kaufman Field to open Patriot League Tournament play. Mountain Hawks to host Patriot League Tournament beginning Thursday

Lehigh senior centerfielder Rosie Roessel has been named Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball, it was announced Tuesday. The award marks the fifth straight year and the ninth time overall a Lehigh softball player has won the award. Roessel was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the third straight year, where she is joined by sophomore Emily Bausher.

Lehigh head coach Andy Coen has announced the addition of Joe Bottiglieri to the Mountain Hawks’ coaching staff. Bottiglieri will coach Lehigh’s inside linebackers. Defense holds off offense in Brown and White Spring Game
The Lehigh football team completed its spring practice segment with the annual Brown and White game, held on a sunny but breezy Saturday morning inside Goodman Stadium. With a modified scoring system in place, the Brown team (defense) defeated the White (offense) 46-37. Both units had strong moments as the defense intercepted three passes, while the offense put the ball in the end zone on two occasions.

Several of Lehigh’s seniors played a key role as the Mountain Hawks swept a doubleheader from Holy Cross Saturday on senior day at Kaufman Field. The Lehigh men’s and women’s track and field teams will split themselves between multiple meets for the third time in the last four weeks. Dan was always a big, gifted defenseman while David was a late-blooming, smaller attackman. The DiMarias couldn’t be more different, yet alike in many ways. In October, the Lehigh men’s golf team fell to rival Lafayette in the President’s Cup in Gladstone, N.J. Lehigh falls at #7 Penn State
The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team dropped a 16-3 final at #7 Penn State on Wednesday night. Bad weather ended hopes of a comeback by the Lehigh baseball team in a 10-8 loss against Delaware State on Wednesday on the Goodman Campus. The Lehigh football program enjoyed another outstanding season in 2012. The Mountain Hawks posted their third consecutive ten win season, finishing at 10-1. Lehigh senior Gabe Knutson and junior Mackey McKnight were named Second Team NABC All-District honorees earlier this week, following in the footsteps of classmate C.J. Reed named a finalist for Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award
Lehigh head men’s basketball coach Brett Reed is one of only 20 finalists in the nation for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award, as announced by CollegeInsider.com on Tuesday. The award was established in 2008 to honor those who not only achieve success on the basketball court, but who also display moral integrity off it as well. Field hockey earns several NFHCA academic honors
The Lehigh field hockey team earned a number of academic honors from the NFHCA last week. The Mountain Hawks garnered an academic team award for a collective GPA over 3.0 while nine individuals were named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. Mountain Hawks coast to 62-40 victory over Colgate

Lucas, Bliss earn preseason honors as Lehigh tabbed for three-peat
The Lehigh softball team was well-represented Monday as the Patriot League unveiled its preseason poll, major award winners and All-League team. Lehigh men’s lacrosse tickets now on sale
Tickets for Lehigh’s final four home games against UMass, Colgate, Navy and Lafayette, along with the Independence Classic vs. Penn State, are now on sale. Mountain Hawks hold off Army, 85-76
Five players finished with double figures as the Mountain Hawks took a 22-point first-half lead and held off a second-half Army charge, 85-76 on Sunday afternoon. Junior Mackey McKnight led the way with 21 points while senior Gabe Knutson posted 18 and junior Anthony D’Orazio had 15. Lehigh has now won eight of its last nine road games, improving to 16-5 overall and 6-1 in Patriot League play.

Despite a career-high 18 points from junior Lindsay Hoskins, the Lehigh women’s basketball team fell to Army on Wednesday night, 61-56. In its final dual meet of the regular season, the Lehigh swimming and diving team came up on the short end of close 148-146 score against visiting Drexel Saturday at Jacobs Pool. The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team was unable to hold an early lead as visiting Drexel won a number of close races down the stretch to defeat the Mountain Hawks 173-123 in their final regular season dual Saturday at Jacobs Pool.
