Mountain Hawks finish fifth at Bucknell Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh finished up competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks finished fifth with a score of 888 (294, 303, 291). Rider University won the overall team crown, as the Broncs shot an 858, to win by 16 strokes over Bucknell Blue (874). Bucknell finished in third place, while St. Francis (Pa.) came in fourth. Lehigh’s top finisher for the weekend was Matt Denison, who shot a 215 to finish eighth overall, while teammate Steve Suarez finished with a 217 to come in ninth place.
Other Mountain Hawk finishers were Alan Borowsky, who finished 31st (226), Shane Gilroy, who came in 45th place with a 231. Eric Feather tied for 56th place with 237 on the weekend. Tyler Brewington of Rider won the individual crown with a score of 211, while teammate Dylan Maxey shot a 212 to finish in a tie for second with Bucknell’s Charles Waddell.
Lehigh will return to action on September 30 when the Mountain Hawks travel to Ithaca, New York to compete in the Cornell Invitational. Action is slated to get underway at 8:00 A.M.
