Mountain Hawks row versus archrival Leopards

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Lehigh headed to its home Lehigh River this weekend to compete against archrival Lafayette, as well as the Black Knights of Army.  The women’s varsity eight got the day going with a first place showing in a time of 5:55.5.  Lehigh’s women’s varsity eight consisted of coxswain –Sarah Michaels, Stroke seat-Denise Julian, 7-Sara Brams-Miller, 6-Diana Philipovia, 5-Christine Pocaro, 4-Alix Howie, 3-Kaitlyn McCracken, 2-Emily Marshall, bow-Jackie Cross.  The women’s second eight and third eight also captured first place, while the varsity four crossed in a time of 6:45.6, good for second place.

 

For the men, the varsity eight finished in second behind Army with a time of 5:09.6.  Lehigh’s lineup was coxswain –Dave Highhill, Stroke seat-Matt Galuska, 7-Phil Bresnahan 6-Mark Chandler, 5-Chris Hause, 4-Sam Anderson, 3- Andrew Younghein, 2-Todd Mickelson, bow-Jon Winter.  The men’s second and third eight both won their respective races, while the varsity four took second place.

Lehigh will return to action this weekend when the Mountain Hawks travel to Worcester, Massachusetts to compete in the 2006 Patriot League Championships on Lake Quinsigmond.
