COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore Allison Juster shot an 82 to capture individual medalist honors as the Mountain Hawks took first place in the five-team Ursinus Women’s Golf Invitational, held Tuesday at the Rivercrest Golf Club. Lehigh’s team score of 339 was 17 strokes better than second place Kutztown. Elsewhere for Lehigh, freshman Katey Gumz shot an 84 to finish in a tie for second place.
The win for Juster is her first of the season, as the Mountain Hawks won their fifth tournament of the year – the most in any one season of the program’s five-year history. Other Mountain Hawks taking part in Tuesday’s event were junior Taylor Sauer (85), who finished fourth, sophomore Alison Webb (88), who finished tied for seventh, and sophomore Paige Cullen (97), who finished 13th overall.
Lehigh returns to the links on Friday, when the Mountain Hawks take part in the two-day Golden Bear Invitational, hosted by Kutztown University.
