Stetson stops Lehigh win streak at seven

DELAND, Fla. – Lehigh saw its seven match winning streak come to an end Thursday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks were shut out by Stetson 7-0 at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Brown and White won just won doubles match and were swept in the singles matches as Lehigh falls to 8-2 on the season and wrap-up their spring break trip with a 2-1 record.
The Mountain Hawks were beaten at first and second doubles, but did salvage a win at third doubles, where junior Ryan Lloyd and freshman Drew Balshi downed Trevor Bach and Bret Feldman 8-3.
In singles play, Lehigh dropped all six matches in straight sets. Junior Alfredo Fernandez-Concha suffered his first loss of the season, losing to Mario Cayo 6-2, 6-4. Balshi gave Eddie Majcher a battle at sixth singles, losing the first set 7-6 before dropping the second 6-1.
Lehigh will return to the court on Tuesday, when the Mountain Hawks host West Chester. The match gets underway at 3:00 pm from the Lewis Tennis Center.
