Lehigh wraps up fall slate at ITA East Regionals

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Lehigh wrapped up its fall season over the weekend as several Mountain Hawks competed at the ITA East Regionals hosted by Army at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. Mountain Hawks competed in both the open singles and open doubles brackets of the three day event, but suffered early setbacks as the fall season comes to an end.
Junior Gwen Dwyer competed in the open singles bracket, but lost her opening round match to Laura Peterzan of Harvard 6-1, 6-2. In open doubles action, the Lehigh due of senior Starr Foster and sophomore Alexis Jacobi were ousted in the first round by Steph Cohen and Adriann Gin of Georgetown by an 8-5 score.
Last weekend’s tournament concluded a fall schedule that saw the Mountain Hawks take part at the Cornell Invitational and also play and win the ECAC Championships in Rhode Island. Lehigh will open the spring 2006 season at home against UMBC and Temple on February 5.
