FLOURTOWN, Pa. – Junior Alan Borowsky paced the Mountain Hawks as Lehigh battled some stiff competition and stiff winds at the Big Five Classic, held on Saturday and Sunday at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. As a team, the Mountain Hawks shot a 613, to finish 21 strokes behind Richmond, who was declared the overall winner with a 592.
Richmond and George Washington each posted a 592 team score, but the Spiders were declared the winners by virtue of a lower score shot by their fifth golfer.
Individually, medalist honors went to Villanova’s Steve Arnold, who shot a two-day total of 142.
For the Mountain Hawks, Borowsky led the way with a 149, good for a 12th place tie overall. After shooting a 75 on Saturday, Borowsky registered a 74 in the second and final round on Sunday. Elsewhere for Lehigh, Nam Park (78-73-151) finished two strokes in back of Borowsky. Junior Max Muller (79-77-156), senior Jason Moloney (78-84-162), and junior Ross Feldman (83-79-162) closed out the scoring for the Mountain Hawks.
Lehigh wraps up fall play next weekend, as the Mountain Hawks hit the links in Finksburg, Md. at the Mount St. Mary’s Fall Classic.
