Lehigh wins second straight, captures Lehigh Fall Invite

– Lehigh’s Brown team shot a 329 to win the four-team Lehigh Fall Invitational at the Wedgewood Golf Course on Friday afternoon.
The Mountain Hawks have now won their first two fall tournaments of the 2005 season.
The invite took place under humid conditions at the par 71 course.
The Lehigh White team finished third overall with a 364.
Competing as an individual, Princeton’s Alexis Etow shot a two-over par 73 to capture individual medalist honors. Teammate Caitlin Sullivan finished second with a 76 overall.
Individually, the Mountain Hawks were led by the play of sophomore Yvonne Kukora, who finished third overall with a nine-over par 80 on the day. Classmate Tiina Olsson shot an 82 to finish fifth overall. Elsewhere on Lehigh’s Brown team, newcomer Katey Gumz finished in a sixth place tie with an 83. Sophomore Allison Juster shot an 84, and Amanda Furiasse shot an 88 to round out scoring on the Brown team.
Lehigh’s White team was led on the links by the efforts of sophomore Alison Webb, who posted an 87. Junior Kassia Nelson shot an 88, including a 41 on the back nine. Kelly Gordon (93), Paige Cullen (96), and Mary Kate Meehan (99) closed out the Lehigh scoring.
Junior Caitlin Colvin, competing as an individual, registered a 95 on the afternoon.
Lehigh returns to action on Saturday, when the Mountain Hawks take part in the Princeton Invitational.
