Lewisburg, PA – The first 18 holes of the 2005 Patriot League tournament are complete, and the Mountain Hawks find themselves situated in third place with a team score of 297, thirteen strokes in back of first place Army.
The Black Knights lead the way with a 284, while host Bucknell is second with a 286.
The tournament, being played under blustery and damp conditions at the Bucknell Golf Club, was suspended during the second round thanks to a gusty thunderstorm in the Lewisburg area.
Sophomore Ross Feldman, senior Patrick McCahill, and junior Jason Moloney paced the Mountain Hawks on day one, as all three golfers posted a 74 on the par 70 course. Their four-over par placed them in an eleventh place tie. Senior John Jaravata’s 75 rounded out the Lehigh scoring.
Sophomore Alan Borowsky posted a 76 and junior captain Nam-Kyu Park registered a 79 through the first 18 holes for Lehigh.
In second round play, four Mountain Hawks were able to complete their rounds before the storms hit. Borowsky (77), Feldman (74), Jaravata (78), and Moloney (75) all wrapped up round two.
McCahill, Park, and the rest of the golfers will complete round two beginning at 7:30 Sunday morning, weather permitting. The final round is scheduled to get underway at approximately 8:45.
