Issue, MD – Lehigh’s Nam Park shot a 77 under brutal conditions Sunday to pace Lehigh in the rain-shortened George Washington Invite, held at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club on Sunday. Because of the poor weather, the event was shortened to 18 holes.
As a team, Lehigh finished tied for 14th overall in the 26-team field. The Mountain Hawks shot a 320. Villanova University won the team title with a 303.
Park’s 77 paced the Mountain Hawks, as he finished in a tie for 18th place overall. Teammate Jason Moloney shot a 78, while Alan Borowsky posted an 80. Senior Patrick McCahill shot a 43 on the front nine and a 42 on the back to finish with an 85. Classmate John Jaravata shot an 87, as his score did not count towards the team’s total.
Villanova’s Jonathan Hewitt shot an even par 72 to capture medalist honors.
Lehigh returns to the links on Friday, as the Mountain Hawks take part in the Lafayette Spring Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club.
