Columbua, GA – Freshman Taryn Hanley doubled to center in the bottom of the eighth inning plating sophomore Whitney Schenbeck with the game’s only run as Lehigh earned its first victory of the season with a dramatic 1-0 win over
Michigan State on Saturday afternoon at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. Lehigh improves to 1-2 with the win, while the Spartans fall to 1-6.

Heather Hamasaki struck out two over six scoreless innings for the Mountain Hawks. Ling, who came on in relief in the seventh, pitched two scoreless frames to earn the win.
Freshman Kate Marvel was 3-for-4 at the plate for Lehigh in the win. For the game, Lehigh scratched out five hits off Spartans pitching.
