Lehigh has a strong showing at NCAA Regionals

University Park, PA – Lehigh traveled to Penn State University on Saturday afternoon to compete in the 2004 NCAA District Championships and there was plenty to be happy about for the Mountain Hawks.
The Lehigh men raced their way to an impressive eighth place finish out of 23 teams in attendance, while the Mountain Hawk women came in 14th place out of 24 teams, led by sophomore Jen Schappert who crossed the finish line in 19th place overall.
For the men, junior Rob Hampson ran to a 30th place finish in a time of 31:43 and he was followed by senior co-captain Alex Hudgins (42), sophomore Victor Vientos (45), seniors Sam Kirk (50) and Pat Boyle (52), sophomore Brendan Glover (68) and senior Mark Swanson (101). Georgetown won the overall men’s title and the Hoyas were followed by American and Penn.
For the women, Schappert was followed by classmate Carolyn House (84), senior co-captain Deanna Willard (95), junior co-captain Tracie Fails (105), sophomores Sarah Seiler (121) and Kirsten Wert (127) and junior Olivia Basu (133).
West Virginia was the overall women’s champion, followed by Villanova and the Tigers of Princeton.
