Lehigh sweeps Rider at home on Saturday

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh got in the pool with Rider on Saturday afternoon and it was the Mountain Hawks coming away with a sweep of the Broncs at Jacobs Pool.
The Lehigh men defeated Rider 139-104, and the women followed that with a 130-107 victory.
The Mountain Hawks have enjoyed much success in the young season in their home pool thus far in 2004.
Junior Laura Gray won the three-meter diving competition with a score of 185.70 and for the second consecutive week the Mountain Hawk quartet of Thomas Gilbert, Grant Flothmeier, William Green and Sean Herman took first place in the 400-yard medley relay. Sophomore Betsy Balaguer came in first place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:33.46 and then added the 500-yard freestyle to her list of accomplishments as well.
Freshman Jonathan Kearney, who won twice, and senior Jess Dudley also won competitions for the Mountain Hawks, as did Joseph Beagen and Julie Mitchell.

Lehigh returns to action next weekend when the Mountain Hawks travel to Easton to take on archrival Lafayette.
