Lehigh picks up second straight road win

Garden City, NY – Lehigh defeated Adelphi on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 1-0 on the strength of junior Adam Williamson’s goal at the 80:38 mark off of a feed from Joe Clemente.
With the win, the Mountain Hawks improve to
6-3-1, while the Panthers fall to 3-5.
The game was very physical throughout with Lehigh being called for 14 fouls and the Panthers racking up 13 on the afternoon. The Mountain Hawks unleashed 13 shots for the game to Adelphi’s seven and Lehigh also had four corners to the Panther’s zero. In goal for Lehigh, freshman Charlie Sales started his first ever game and picked up two saves en route to the shutout. For Adelphi, Rich Skoblicki stopped five Mountain Hawk shots.
Williamson led Lehigh with five shots on the day, while Mike Hessemer and Peter Classi both had two.
Lehigh will return to action on Saturday evening when the Mountain Hawks travel to West Point, New York to take on Army in a key Patriot League contest. Game time is set for 7:00.
