Kutztown, PA – Lehigh newcomer Yvonne Kukora posted a 77 to tie for medalist honors as the Mountain Hawks captured first place in the five-team Kutztown Fall Invitational on Thursday afternoon in the team’s 2004-05 season opener.  Kukora’s 77 placed her in a tie for the top spot with McDaniel’s Kelly Cramp. As a team, Lehigh shot a 328 in cruising to the 16-stroke victory over second place McDaniel.  Host Kutztown University finished third.  The invite was held under humid and breezy conditions at the par 74 Berkleigh Country Club.

Lehigh junior co-captain Sarah March shot an 80 on the day to finish fourth overall.  Sophomore Kassia Nelson shot an 84 to finish seventh, and freshman Allison Juster’s 87 placed her in the top ten as well.  Senior co-captain Alexis Foucek (97) rounded out the Lehigh scoring.

The Mountain Hawks look for back-to-back victories for the first time in school history as Lehigh returns to the links on Thursday, September 16.  On that day, the Mountain Hawks will play host to the Lehigh Quad at Saucon Valley Country Club.
