Lehigh finishes 0-3 at Hokie Fall Invite

– The Mountain Hawks were swept away by Appalachian State Saturday night in their final match at the Hokie Fall Invite. With the loss Lehigh completes the tournament with an 0-3 record, overall they are 0-4 on the season. Appalachian State finishes the tournament 2-1, they are 3-1 overall.
From a scoring standpoint this was the Mountain Hawks’ most competitive game of the Tournament. The Game scores were 30-25, 30-27 and 30-19.
Michelle Schwendenmann led all players with 14 kills. Nikki Barnes and Jill Racketa added 10 kills apiece. Barnes also led all players with 12 digs. Kathleen Lafferty pitched in with 35 assists and 11 digs. Overall Lafferty ranked fourth in the tournament with just over 7 assists per game.
Chrissy Finch led Appalachian State with 12 kills.
Virginia Tech was lead by Katie Esbrook’s 10 kills and Melissa Markowski’s 32 assists.
The Mountain Hawks return home Wednesday night looking for their first victory of the season. Lehigh will play host to Wagner at at the Leeman-Turner Arena.
