Ambler, PA – The Mountain Hawks suffered their first loss of the season, falling 1-0 at
Temple Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Temple’s Sam Vietry scored the game’s only goal in the 60th minute on a feed from Trish Dalton.
Lehigh out-shot Temple 10-7, but failed to capitalize on their scoring chances. Senior goalkeeper Erin Iwaskiewicz made two saves for the Mountain Hawks, who fall to 1-1 on the season. Temple improves to 1-0.
“We worked hard, but we didn’t finish our chances,” said coach Manny Oudin. “It’s tough physically to play back-to-back games in a weekend, but we have a similar schedule next weekend so hopefully we’ll be ready.”
Lehigh returns to action Friday night, when the Mountain Hawks host Stony Brook at the Ulrich Sports Complex. That game kicks off at and will be broadcast online at lehighsports.com.
