Hamilton, NY – Lehigh (
8-8-1, 1-3-1) rebounded after the tough loss to Navy on Friday, playing Colgate (10-7-1, 4-1-1) to a 0-0 tie on Sunday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks earned their first point in the Patriot League since beating Lafayette earlier this season. Head coach Manny Oudin said the team played with courage. “They showed what they are made of today,” said Oudin. “They played with heart and showed their character. I thought they battled back really well after the loss on Friday. It is obvious we can play with the best in the Patriot League, we just haven’t been able to get the wins.”
Freshman defender Tara Stottlemyer led the defensive effort, holding Colgate’s Kate Barrett without a point. Barrett came into the day leading the Patriot League in both goals and points. Keeper
Erin Iwaskiewicz made eight saves in earning her fifth shutout of the season, a career high. Lehigh has nearly beaten all three of the Patriot League leaders this season, losing 2-1 to both American and Navy before Sunday’s draw with Colgate. The Mountain Hawks will continue their season on Wednesday, as they travel to
Philadelphia to take on Penn. Game time is set for 3:30
