Mountain Hawks burn Dragons

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh (3-2) kept the wins coming in the second dual of the day, defeating Drexel in the second match of the Sheridan Duals, 33-7. The Mountain Hawks won eight of the ten bouts in the match to run away with the victory.
Senior Ted Dufresne (157) picked up Lehigh’s only fall in his first dual match of the season. Fellow senior Tristan Boyd was awarded a technical fall at 141, while freshmen Cory Cooperman (133) and Travis Frick (184) scored major decisions. Junior All-American Jon Trenge shutout Chris Jones to pick up a major decision at 197. Notching decisions for the Mountain Hawks were freshman Troy Letters (165), junior Brad Dillon (174), and sophomore Aaron Kling (149). Drexel could only manage victories in the first and last bouts of the day, as Lehigh sandwiched eight straight wins in between.
In the other matches at high noon, Lock Haven held on to take care of the Scarlet Knights 23-21, while Rider dispatched Slippery Rock 33-15. Earlier in the day, Lehigh breezed by Rutgers 41-6.
In the day’s final match, Lehigh takes on Rider at 2:00.
