Brooklyn, NY – Lehigh went on a 23-2 first-half run and never looked back as the Mountain Hawks defeated the St. Francis (NY) Terriers by a score of 87-57 at Jacobs Gym on the campus of Polytechnic University on Thursday night. The win snaps a five game Lehigh losing streak and marks the first Mountain Hawks’ first win since November 30. Lehigh improves to 2-7 on the season, while the Terriers fall to 0-7.
After the Terriers opened the game on a 5-0 run, Lehigh responded by scoring 23 of the game’s next 25 points to grab a 23-7 lead. The Mountain Hawks were led in the first half by Carli Toliver and Dawn Gorynski, who scored 11 points apiece in the opening 20 minutes. Toliver finished the night with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Gorynski had a career night, as she pulled down 7 rebounds, dished out four assists and came away with five steals on the night.
