Lehigh sinks Navy, Logie hits six threes

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh made it a perfect ten for ten at home this season as the Mountain Hawks defeated Navy by a score of 68-46 in front of 3,276 at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks were led in scoring by senior Matt Logie, with 24 points on 9 for 15 shooting. Lehigh is now 14-7 overall, and 6-2 in Patriot League play, while Navy falls to 6-15, 2-6 in the league.
Lehigh jumped on The Midshipmen early, opening the game with a 12-2 run, sparked by a pair of Logie three-point field goals. Navy then battled back and evened the score at 21 with just over four minutes left in the half. The lead switched hands several times in the remaining minutes, with Lehigh going to the locker room up two, 34-32. Senior Zlatko Savovic, led Lehigh with 13 points and three assists in the first half.
Lehigh came out strong in the second half and extended its lead to as many as 22 and never looked back. Logie came out on fire, by scoring 18 of his 24 points in the second, and finished up by going 6 for 10 from downtown. Logie was not alone though, as he received lots of help from Savovic with 16 points and nine assists. Senior center Matt Crawford had a very solid game against the large frontline of Navy as he grabbed seven rebounds and swatted away three shots.
Both teams shot a respectable 43% in the first half, but the Brown and White maintained their marksmanship in the second half, when they shot 45%, compared to Navy’s 18%, which proved to be the difference.
Lehigh returns to action on Tuesday night when the Mountain Hawks host Bucknell at Stabler Arena in a key Patriot League showdown. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
