Staten Island, NY – Lehigh dropped its second consecutive contest Thursday evening to Northeast Conference pre-season favorite Wagner, 80-68. The loss drops the Mountain Hawks to 6-5, while the Seahawks improve to 4-5.
Lehigh trailed 46-34 at the end of the first half. The Mountain Hawks managed an amazing 75% shooting from the floor. Matt Logie led the way with nine points, including a three pointer. Also in the first half Ra Tiah posted 12 points and was 5-of-8 from the free throw line.
Wagner netted 46 first half points, led by Dedrick Dye, who scored nine. The Seahawks used a 7-of-9 shooting performance from three-point land.
The second half was a nip and tuck affair. Each team posted 34 points, with Wagner shooting 43% from the floor compared to Lehigh's 37%.
Logie and Tiah finished the game as the high scorers, each posting 19. Tiah went 9-of-12 from the free throw line and 2-of-2 from three point land. Mike Cowgill led the Mountain Hawks in rebounds with six, while Tiah again posted a game high, this time with eight assists.
For Wagner, Sean Munson led the team with 18 points, going 10-of-11 from the free throw line and 4-of-6 from the floor. Munson was joined by Jermaine Hall and Teoine Carroll who posted 16 and 13 points respectively.
