Five alive, Lehigh equals best start since 1994

Bethlehem, PA - Lehigh was victorious over Columbia Monday evening 67-51, improving its record to 5-3 on the season. The win also matches last season’s win total, and is the fastest a Lehigh team has won its fifth game since the 1994-95 season. With the loss Columbia falls to 1-7.
The Mountain Hawks led 36-23 at halftime as Matt Logie managed nine first half points on a 3 of 6 shooting performance. Ra Tiah went 2 for 2 from three-point range, scoring eight points in the first half. For Columbia in the first 20:00, Chris Owens was the squad’s leading scorer, notching seven points, while going 2 for 4 from the floor.
The second half was similar to the first, as Lehigh scored first and often, netting 31 points in the final stanza. Leading the way for Lehigh was Zlatko Savovic, scoring five points, while going 2 for 2 from the field.
For the game, Lehigh shot an impressive 63% from the floor and 70% from three-point land. Logie finished the game as the team’s leading scorer, notching 13 points, while going 5 for 9 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from three-point land. Ra Tiah also managed double-digits, posting ten points and shooting 2 for 3 from outside the arch. For the second consecutive game, Mike Fischman tied a career high, leading the team with nine rebounds, six of which came in the second half. Fischman also posted a game high two blocks for the Mountain Hawks.
