Lehigh wraps up spring season; Bird earns medal

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Junior Carolyn Bird placed third in the women’s lightweight single final at the 2010 U.S Rowing championship on Sunday as she crossed in a time of 10:00.701. Bird earned a medal for her performance as she competed along with the men’s varsity four crew to close out the Mountain Hawks 2010 spring race schedule. The Lehigh men placed fourth in their final with a time of 7:31.584 as they competed versus Fordham, Loyola and MIT.
Bird used a late push in her race to move past Amy Nash of UMass and claim third place. The men’s varsity four consisted of junior Spencer Gundry, freshman Chris Daniels, and seniors Andrew Bartynski, Eric Harper and Jack Muskett who were competing in their final race for the Mountain Hawks.
