Mountain Hawks swept by Bucknell 3-0

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Coming into Saturday night’s match, the Mountain Hawks were coming off a tough 3-2 loss to Colgate just the night before in Hamilton, N.Y. Unfortunately for the Mountain Hawks, Saturday night’s result was not the same as they took on the Bucknell Bison at Davis Gym. Game scores were 30-17, 30-28 and 30-23.
Junior Shannon Spafford followed up her 13-kill match on Friday night by recording a team-high 14 kills against the Bison. Spafford also hit a match-best .379. Also powering the Mountian Hawk offense was freshman Kristin Musbach who was second on the team in hitting percentage, recording a .278. Additionally, Musbach came up with a match-high three block assists. Meanwhile, senior Cassidy Maumus put up her second season-high total of the weekend on Saturday night. Against Colgate, the New Orleans, La. native had a season-high 27 digs. Against Bucknell, Maumus broke her season-high mark as she recorded 29 digs.
Leading the Bucknell offense, Jenna Henderson and Emilie Hardinge each put up 12 kills. Henderson also recorded the lone double-double of the match as she also had 11 digs. Kristen Sydlowski led the Bison defense with 22 kills.
Lehigh, 0-25 overall and 0-11, returns to the court for its final mid-week match on Tuesday night as the Mountain Hawks travel to La Salle. Match time is set for 7:00 pm.
