Lehigh ties for 12th place at Lafayette Invite

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Lehigh competed in the Lafayette Invitational over the weekend versus a very strong field of 25 schools, and the Mountain Hawks tied for 12th place overall with a score of 621 (306, 315). Junior Will Robinson led the Brown and White with a two round total of 150 (73, 77), tying for 14th place, while Shane Gilroy tied for 34th place as he shot a 154 (78, 76). The Bucknell Bison captured the team championship as they shot a 594 (303, 291) and were followed by Drexel (597), Delaware (599), Mount St. Mary’s (606), and Monmouth (609).
Other Mountain Hawks that competed throughout the weekend were Steve Suarez (81, 77 = 158) who tied for 53rd place, Chad Lubart (77, 85 = 162) who tied for 80th place and Duncan Zeiders (78, 85 = 163) who finished in a tie for 84th place.
Mike Magalski of St. Francis (Pa.) won the individual crown with a two-round total of 143 (72, 71) and he was followed by Tommy Ellison of Delaware with a 144 (71, 73) and Bucknell’s Stuart Lindgren (72, 73) and Mount St. Mary’s Kevin Farrell (72, 73) who both tied for third with a 145.
Lehigh is back in action on April 19 when the Mountain Hawks compete in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland. Tee time is set for 8:00 AM.
