Lehigh falls 67-50 to American Wednesday
Seniors Alexa Williams and Emily Gratch combined for 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting, but it wasn’t enough as the Lehigh women’s basketball team (13-10, 6-3 PL) fell 67-50 to American (17-6, 9-0 PL) Wednesday. Williams led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds while Gratch added 13 points and tied her season-high of 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.

Lehigh tabbed for repeat in Patriot League preseason poll
After reclaiming its perch atop the Patriot League in softball in 2011, Lehigh was picked to repeat as Patriot League champions in 2012, as the league announced its softball preseason poll Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks garnered 48 points and eight out of 12 first place votes to edge Colgate in the poll, which was voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Mountain Hawks announce football class of 2016
The Lehigh football program is rooted in tradition, one that includes both academic and athletic success. On the heels of Lehigh’s tenth Patriot League football championship, and second straight NCAA FCS Playoff berth, head coach Andy Coen announced the signing of 22 student-athletes who will join the Mountain Hawks’ football program in the fall, a group that will look to continue Lehigh’s tradition of success.

Lehigh hosts American for crucial game Wednesday
After three straight road games, the Lehigh women’s basketball team will return home to host American Wednesday at 7 p.m. Lehigh is in sole possession of second place in the Patriot League, maintaining a one-game lead over a pair of teams and will look to pull within one game of first-place American. Lehigh will also look for a season-series split after falling to the Eagles in January.

Lehigh heads to American Thursday for CBS Sports Network tilt
Following five straight games in the Lehigh Valley, the Lehigh men’s basketball team heads to our nation’s capital on Thursday to face American in a big Patriot League showdown. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will air live nation-wide on CBS Sports Network with Jason Knapp and Vince Curran on the call. Thursday’s game could prove crucial in the battle for a top-two seed in the league standings and a guaranteed home game for a potential Patriot League Semifinal.

Lehigh football to be recognized at Wednesday's women's basketball game
The two-time defending Patriot League Champion Lehigh football team will be honored Wednesday night at halftime of Lehigh’s women’s basketball game versus American at Stabler Arena. Lehigh enjoyed one of the finest seasons in school history in 2011, going 11-2 and advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA FCS Playoffs.

Season Preview: Lehigh looks to take the next step in 2012
By most accounts, the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team enjoyed a successful 2011 season, but the Mountain Hawks aren’t satisfied. Their most significant accomplishment was making the team’s first Patriot League Tournament since 2006, but they want more. Entering this season, Lehigh has its eyes set on breaking onto the national lacrosse landscape while competing for a league championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament, where they hope to do damage against the nation’s elite.

Williams earns second PL Player of the Week award
For the second time this season and of her career, Lehigh women’s basketball senior Alexa Williams has been named the Patriot League Female Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday. Williams tied her career high with 23 points in a 75-73 comeback victory at Holy Cross Saturday as the Warren, Ohio native also set career highs in field goals made (10) and attempted (15).

Leung nabs second Patriot League swimming honor of season
Lehigh freshman Alissa Leung has been named the Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. The award is Leung’s second of the season, as she also earned Patriot League honors for her performance against Marist in the first week of January.

IFL Veteran QB Lands in the Valley
The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks are proud to have added veteran QB Dixie Wooten to their 2012 training camp roster. The Steelhawks acquired Wooten’s rights from the IFL’s Nebraska Danger. Mountain Hawks down Saint Francis (Pa.) for second straight win
Lehigh completed a perfect 2-0 weekend on Sunday as the Mountain Hawks downed Saint Francis (Pa.) 5-2 inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks swept the doubles matches and then won four out of six singles matches with a revamped lineup to improve to 2-1 overall on the season.

One group of Mountain Hawks went to the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the NYC Armory while the other stayed home as Lehigh hosted the 20th John Covert Classic. In both non-scoring meets, Lehigh had some great individual performances highlighted by a pair of broken school records.

Goldblum's heroics propel Lehigh past FDU for first win
In a gritty, tightly-contested affair, the Lehigh men’s tennis team picked up its first win of the season, edging Fairleigh Dickinson 4-3 Saturday at the Lewis Tennis Center. Freshman Dan Goldblum grinded out a three-set win over Mark Hemy at No. 6 singles for the decisive point as the Mountain Hawks move to 1-1 on the young season.

Mountain Hawks upended by Fairleigh Dickinson, 7-0
Despite another competitive effort from the Lehigh women’s tennis team, the Mountain Hawks dropped their second straight match to open the season, falling 7-0 to Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The visiting Knights won all three doubles and all six singles matches to win their season opener, while Lehigh falls to 0-2 with the loss.

Lehigh rolls to 75-51 win over Holy Cross
The Lehigh men’s basketball team used a 15-4 first-half run to open a 40-25 halftime advantage before rolling in the second, as the Mountain Hawks (18-6, 6-2 Patriot League) downed Holy Cross (9-13, 3-5), 75-51, on Saturday in Stabler Arena. Lehigh was led by junior C.J. McCollum, who filled up the stat sheet once again with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals to lead the Mountain Hawks to their fourth straight win.

Lehigh uses 15-0 run to defeat Holy Cross, 75-73
The Lehigh women’s basketball team went on a 15-0 run over the final 5:29 to defeat Holy Cross 75-73 Saturday. Junior Kelly Peterson hit the game-winning three to cap off the run as Lehigh held the Crusaders without a field goal for the final 6:40. Senior Alexa Williams tied a career high with 23 points while senior Emily Gratch finished with 18 points, surpassing the 1,000 point career milestone.
