Recognition of our rich Intramural tradition has been a long awaited dream and well over due.
The Club Sports program, which now reports completely under the direction of Campus Athletics and presented the perfect opportunity to recognize the athletic accomplishments within these collective areas of so many current and former athletes! The Welch Fitness Center in Taylor Gym which attracts over 400 users per day was the perfect area to display Campus Athletics past and present. As you enter the lobby of Taylor Gym and pass though the arch way leading to the Welch Fitness Center, one cannot escape the Campus Athletics “Case of Celebration and “Wall of Achievement” which provides a look into the rich history of these programs up until the present. A 16 foot glass case is serves as the ideal location for celebrating club sport team and individual achievements as well as photo displays of champions and numerous teams. The Wall of Achievement recognizes 56 years of intramural champions from 1954 to present, along with the newly formed Upperclass Independent Champion and Intramural Manager of the Year plaque which has not been acknowledged in over 20 years. Club Sport leadership is also represented on the wall, giving recognition to those club presidents that have displayed distinguished leadership skills and development of a successful club team.
